Re: USB Serial Console RB5009 ROS 7.2rc1

Did anyone successfully connect to RB5009 with a USB serial cable?
Looking at Mikrotik's Youtube video on this topic:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcM7Ds0p_pA

It should work, but I guess the example isn't for RB5009

Re: Dude for 7.1?

So the fix in 7.2 allows RouterOS v7 routers to be "registered" as agents on Dude Server v6?
Is that correct?

Re: Dude Server Alternative?

As others have said, the dude works fine on a cheap hEX. Database can be on a USB-stick or USB-SSD. That's the way I decided to keep the dude server.
To monitor RouterOS v7.x routers or add RouterOS v7.x routers as agents, don't you need Dude server to be on v7.x as well?

Dude Server Alternative?

With no clear idea when will Dude Server v7.x be available, I have no monitoring solution for my Mikrotik right now.
Anyone can recommend a good alternative that I can use in the interim?

Seems to be pretty hard to find one that has the same functionality with the small footprint of The Dude

Re: Cannot Multicast within a VLAN

Realised I never really solved this until 6 years later since I posted it :) had a look into it more this time. What fixed it in the end had nothing to do with VLANs.. I just turned on multicast-helper and set it to "full" My Airprint printer showed up and even getting IPv6 address. So I g...

Wilet Tag Support for Mikrotik Knot

Has anyone tried Wilot tags with Mikrotik Knot?
Curious where and how we can get our hands on these tags (hopefully cheaply) to test/try it out.

Wondering how Mikrotik actually supports it.

Hi, I notice that in RouterOS 7.x.. the UI includes a column for "Bridge Port" BridgePort.JPG How do I get this listed in terminal? Neither of these seems to include it in the results: /ip/dhcp-server/lease/print /ip/dhcp-server/lease/print detail Seems useful to help me get which CAP inte...

RSTP with VLAN .. How does it work?

I have a CSS610 switch that I believe only supports RSTP (being a limitation with SwOS). It has multiple VLANs setup and I have the same VLANs setup on all of my other switches as well: RSTP_Network.JPG I am wondering: Is RSTP aware of VLANs? My understanding that I should be using MSTP with VLANS? ...

Re: Routing via GRE to VLAN networks [SOLVED]

Makes no difference.. With no IP address attached to the GRE interface.. Router A still times out, with SRC-ADDRESS showing the Internet public ip picked up by ether1.

Router A is a CHR running on x86_64
Router B is a ARM based RB450GX4

I guess it's a behavior of x86 implementation.. maybe?

I have the same issue now 3 years later!

Re: Routing via GRE to VLAN networks [SOLVED]

Instead of using gre interfaces as gateways, try to add an IP address on each gre interface and use it as your gateway. Thanks jprietove! That did the trick! Just adding an address to the GRE tunnel on each side solved it! In fact I didn't even need to add the static route at all. So the following ...

Thanks for your reply. Based on the routes I've already established, it should work right? Route table says gateway are reachable on both routers. This is not a nice to have anymore. It’s a necessity in a world where are moving towards highly automated networks. Need a way for scripts and automation engines to automatically configure/provision SwOS based switches.

Would love to see this implemented as well, even is it’s a basic one.

Re: CSS610-8G-2S+IN Switching Capacity

OK.. found the issue.. The laptops weren't on the same network (as the server), causing it to route through a router connected upstream (which has a 1Gigabit port). That explains the bottleneck. Amateur mistake. Can confirm that with 4 x laptops connected to CSS610 (this time on the same network), a...

@efalcon -> Curious if you ever got the Ubiquiti UF-RJ45-1g SFP module to work in your CRS305/309.
I would be interested to know, as the Ubiquiti SFP module is significantly cheaper than Mikrotik original SFP.
