Re: Ptp 3.9km Config Optimization

Hello, First off, I think you should look at your MCS... 0-7 are for chain 0, 8-15 for chain 1, 16-23 chain 2..... you have 2 chains and should only concern yourself with 8-15 as 0-7 only have influence when working in single chain mode. change your MCS to al least have MCS10.11,14,15 and try differ...

Re: MCS and chains

You are correct.

MCS-16-23 are for a third chain. Just because they are there doesn't mean they are usable. The options are just baked into the RouterOS and no "per device".
Each chain (antenna) has 8 MCS options, so 0-15.

Re: v6.41.3 [current]

I haven't seen any information here on forum but hopefully this version patches the malware attack "Slingshot". It was only announced 2 days ago, but possibly it was known already to Mikrotik and fixed, as mentioned at the end of the article in the link below. https://www.engadget.com/2018...

Re: Future of LTE products, user feedback requested

1. CAT6 or higher would be preferred. SXT LTE is only CAT3 and I can't anywhere close to my CAT6 modem in my phone (mostly because CAT3 can't use aggrigation, if I fully understand the differences, creating a more stable bandwidth) https://www.westbase.io/the-importance-of-lte-advanced-cat-6/ 2. Re: Dual sim wifi router for buses

Unfortunately, I can only see either 2 SIM or 1x SIM w/ 1x WiFi options...besides the 5GHz option I already wrote about.

The LTE link isn't empty, just scroll down further ;) I thought the same at first :-P

Re: Dual sim wifi router for buses

The only option I can see IF you want to use Mikrotik for this is RB953GS-5HnT-RP with an additional 2.4GHz AP connected to an ethernet port to get 2 SIMs and Dual Band WiFi coverage. A bit expensive but should meet all your requirements...just a bit overkill on the 5GHz side, though :P https://mikr...

I've had problems with quickMOUNT pro (standard version). I get them with mANT 15 devices and they are always easily movable even after being VERY strongly tightened. They are basically the same mount only differing in endings that connect to the antennas.

Re: New to PtMP

First question is, are the place you want to connect in generally the same region..say about 85 dgrees or less degrees for the mounting point of the AP? If yes, then SXT SA5 /sa5 AC would be fine with the SXTsq Lite5-US. If no, then you can look into the omni directional offering for Mikrotik, RBOmn...

Re: omni to increase range of signal

Your antenna is strong enough but your card is the weak point. You can only use up to 18 dBm @ 802.11g 6mbps data rate with -90 on Rx sensitivity . I would find a card that can use more output power, plus this seems like an old card and better to upgrade to an a/b/g/n 2.4Ghz with like 20-25 dBm outp...

Basically like mistry7 wrote: 1. Lower your TX Power, best is around -55dB 2. Check for clean Channel SXT SA5 AC have MAX 31 dBm of transmit power and at that distance, the 2 radios are "screaming" at one another instead of "politely talking" They most likely disconnect because o...
