Re: RouterOS 7 VLAN access problem on PPC architecture

I just upgraded my RB850gx2 to RouterOS 7.6 stable from 6.49.7. My VLAN config is similar to soosp's first config and I'm experiencing the same issue. I thought I had bricked my router when WinBox didn't reload after the 7.6 upgrade. It's not accessible via WinBox via IP or SSH, but it otherwise see...

Re: v6.46.1 [stable] is released!

strods That is correct, /system check-installation fails after I update my RB850Gx2 to 6.46 or 6.46.1. In Winbox the error is "Couldn't continue - damaged routeros-powerpc package: bade image (6)." I think the wording is slightly different at the command line. So far it's only been a prob...

Re: v6.46.1 [stable] is released!

RB850Gx2 still fails install verification post-install :(

Specific error: "Couldn't continue - damaged routeros-powerpc package: bade image (6)"

Router was usable in this state and I was able to backout to 6.45.7 again.

Re: v6.46 [stable] is released!

RB850Gx2 Similar to a previous poster, I also ran into a "damaged" routeros package error when updating a RB850Gx2 from 6.45.7 stable to 6.46 stable. The update seems to work fine, but the installation check fails at around 55%. I was able to revert it to 6.45.7 without any issues. I down...

Re: v6.42 [current]

Updated RB2011 and also installed Winbox 3.13 Now when I open bridge menu, ports tab the winbox hangs. Don't know if it was the 6.42 or the Winbox update that causes it. Bridge is configured with 4 VLAN's (not changed from 6.41) Just tossing in a +1 here for this happening to me, too. Winbox crashe...

Re: v6.42 [current]

My rb850gx2 (early - non ipsec version) went into reboot loop for an hour ... then managed to stabilise itself and seems to be running stable now for more than an hour. Log reports: kernel failure in previous boot. Upgraded from 6.41.3. Same here. I have the RB850Gx2 with hardware IPsec capabilitie...

Re: Issues with BGP peering and TCP MD5 Keys

Based on a doc I found( http://costiser.ro/2013/03/31/bgp-md5-authentication/#.Wi2TjEqnFHb ) describing the BGP MD5 auth mechanism and its interaction with NAT, it looks like NAT is my problem. I tried a few more times, but I can neither determine exactly what is being altered, nor apparently do any...

Issues with BGP peering and TCP MD5 Keys

Howdy, Has anyone else had issue with BGP peering when it involves the use of the a TCP MD5 key? I'm trying to setup BGP peering with Cymru for bogons and I'm having trouble. My router never forms a complete connection with the Cymru peers. To give you some background, I attempted this one before wi...

Re: QuickMount Pro and NetMetal5?

I'm using a NetMetal5 in a home environment with antennas mounted directly on it. I've built a mini-mast indoors to attach it to, but using a pipe clamp alone doesn't make it very easy to make adjustments. The QuickMount Pro is pretty cheap and would make it easy for me to make adjustments.

QuickMount Pro and NetMetal5?

Hello MikroTik Gurus, Can anyone confirm if the NetMetal5 (https://routerboard.com/RB921UAGS-5SHPacD-NM) can be attached to the QuickMount Pro mount (https://routerboard.com/QMP)? The info for the QuickMount Pro info says "You can use the quickMOUNT pro with any pole mountable device or MikroTi...

Re: Identity

If I'm understanding your question correctly, you're trying to set your Mikrotik device identity to the local IP of your gateway. Making the following assumptions: - Your trying to set the identity of a device that is not your gateway - You only have one route to worry about You can set the identity...

Re: Tik App, MikroTik android utility ALPHA test

This app was unstable and hard to use in November/December last year. Now, it's starting to look nice and perform well. Great job, Mikrotik! To those of you that think this is a futile effort because a 5" device is too small, I offer these suggestions: 1) Provide constructive feedback to the Mi...

Re: 4k file size limit??

To close the loop on this, I set up a BGP peering session with the Cymru folks. They were incredibly friendly and helpful in getting it set up.

Impact of address list timeouts on resources

Hello, Does anyone here know if the address list timeouts have any substantial impact on resource use? I have a couple use cases where I'd like to be able to glance at my address lists and have a rough idea for how long an address has been in the list. One use case is to able to script a basic trend...

Out of date documentation

Mikrotik documentation gurus, I've noticed that there are some pages in the manual that are out of date. One example is System->Log ( http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:System/Log ). It's missing entries for a few log topics (caps, certificate, dns, dude, interface, kvm, lte, smb, snmp, vrrp) and ...

4k file size limit??

Hi folks, I'd like to set up a script to pull the full bogons lists for IPv4 and IPv6. I'm looking at using this with the fullbogons files Cymru provides: https://wiki.polaire.nl/doku.php?id=routeros_bogon_update. The problem I'm running into is that pesky 4k file size limit. The full bogon list for...

Re: 6.33.2 version is released!

I upgraded a RB750gl from 6.33.1 was met with a semi-dead router. Upon reboot, the link lights flashed for a few seconds and then turned off entirely. Reseating the power had the same effect (tried multiple times). Unlike some other folks here, the devices in question were all 1G capable devices, so...
