Splitter for 24v passive POE

I have some equipment that use 24v dc together with ethernet. I also have some left over Mikrotik HEX lite devices that only support passive POE. Is there any way i can split the passive 24v POEoutput from the HEX lite and power my device with that? It only needs 5-10w. I am aware that if the device...

Re: Broken PSU in CRS328

Hi, thanks for the replies. MT just referred to the local vendor, which talked to MT and they both agreed that it is outside the 1y warranty so not much they could do. I also got a quote for a new PSU, but at $195 it didnt seem like the obvious choice. Is there somewhere these PSU's can be ordered f...

Broken PSU in CRS328

Hi Just did an autopsy of a broken CRS328 2019 model. It seems like an IC let out the magic smoke, anyone that know the part no. of this component? If someone has some schematics that would also be of great help. On another note. Is this a common problem on these switches? IMG_3722.jpg IMG_3719-copy...

Re: Powerbox pro RB960PGS - no POE out on auto with some devices

It might be that you are providing 24v to the input. And as the device has no dc/dc conversion it will only provide its own line voltage to the POE port. If the connected devices require the POE/POE+ voltage of 48-57 volts to turn on, it will remain off. However, if you set the power to always on, i...

Re: RBwAPG-60adkit in nordic outdoor climate [SOLVED]

Yes, you can use them outdoors in cold northern Norway. Just make sure to mount the unit with cable pointing downwards, since some water could seep into the case next to the cable opening, depends on how you close it's lid.
Thanks alot!

Hi I am concidering running 3 pairs of RBwAPG-60adkit to connect some buildings, but i cannot find anything conclusive regarding these units in an outdoor climate. I find that in the brocure they say that they can be mast mounted, but thats the only reference i can find. They will be mounted outdoor...

Hi all

I recently got a reply from MT after sending them the support files from affected switches. The said that I should start an RMA process with my vendor. I did and got the new qsfp switch instead. Has worked flawlessly so far.

Re: Severe port flapping on CRS328-24P-4S+ and CRS317-1G-16S+

Hi! I just found this topic. Did you use the Mikrotik switch through an UPS(uninterruptible power supply - sinus wave type) hardware ? If not, then this maybe a main problem - the power supply might have receiving some OVP/OCP/SCP effects - causing the port flapping. In my case - yes, they were on ...

But yeah, from Supout.rif we can see that CRS317 - 846C083E29E4 is indeed faulty and...

Re: Severe port flapping on CRS328-24P-4S+ and CRS317-1G-16S+

To all posters here, i'm afraid that this is a combination of HW and SW problem when there's a SFP+ connection between CRS 317 and CRS 328 and simply put, don't expect that anything's gonna change anytime soon. We've replaced CRS 328 with much more expensive Cisco devices and it works like a charm....

Re: Severe port flapping on CRS328-24P-4S+ and CRS317-1G-16S+

From the MikroTik site it looks to me like the S+32LC10D is specifically meant to have the S+23LC10D module on the other end. Are you using the same module on both ends?
I am using the paired SFP+ from Mikrotik S+2332LC10D. So yes.

Re: Severe port flapping on CRS328-24P-4S+ and CRS317-1G-16S+

I have the SAME EXACT problem. Mikrotik needs to fix this. No problem with 1Gbps SFP but with OWM SFP+ it's hell. I think this could be combination of software and hardware problem with SFP+ modules. I agree with you assumtion that this is an edge case between the SFP units and the switch. But stra...

Re: Preformance issues on RB750

I was indeed peaking the capabilities of the router. The CPU was peaking. The reason why i did not suspect this at first, was that the CPU peaked and blocked the GUI update before the counter got to 100% - leaving me with a stable far lower number. I figured this out by doing a speed test with a ram...
