Re: Ring of switches and Vlans

The error message is pointing out that you have a switching loop... you've connected all your switches in a loop for "redundancy"

You need to learn about Spanning-Tree and configure it

Re: mAP lite no ethernet connection

Sorry, most people find that netinstall "doesn't work" but it's usually because they didn't follow every step

An alternative method to downgrade is to upload the npk for a previous version by pasting it into winbox then under the packages menu click "downgrade"

Re: How to create trunk port in CRS3xx [SOLVED]

It should be pretty easy, for VLAN 101 for instance: /interface vlan add name=VL101 vlan-id=101 interface=bridge1 /ip address add address=192.168.101.1/24 interface=VL101 /interface bridge vlan add bridge=bridge1 tagged=sfp1,sfp2,sfp3,ether1 vlan-ids=101 More info here: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wik...

Re: Can the USB interface of the mAP lite be used with a powered hub?

I don't know if a powered hub will pump power into the host port, but you can definitely use a USB OTG+Charge cable like this https://www.dx.com/p/cy-u2-165-bk-micro ... JjOJJhKg-U

That's what I use to add a USB 4G dongle to my mAP2n

Re: Recovery RB through Serial access (putty, hyperterminal...)

At the very least you will probably want a TTL Serial adapter rather than the usual RS232 one you'd normally use, RS232 can signal with voltages from something like -15V to +15V whereas TTL will be 0-3 or 5v

Re: v6.41.2 [current]

After upgrading my mAP2n to 6.41.2 I've found that doing /system reset-configuration no-defaults=no results in an empty configuration, and I can only connect to the router via mac-telnet
Same result when using the reset button to do a config reset, even on 6.42rc24 it also doesn't work

Re: CRS109 Master Port Function missing after upgrade to 6.41.1

With 6.41 this changed, master port was replaced with bridge functionality https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Switch_Chip_Features#Bridge_Hardware_Offloading Basically you need to create a bridge and add each port to that, this will still be hardware accelerated by the switch just the config has ...

Re: wireless mode=station

Any traffic you wish to send over the WLAN will need a route, if you add a static route for 8.8.8.8 with a gateway of 192.168.12.1 it will work, it is not enough to simply specify an interface for your ping.

Re: wireless mode=station

Have you ensured that the default route has been added?
/ip route print
You should see a route for 0.0.0.0/0 to your gateway, if not make sure you've enabled add-default-route for your dhcp client

Mode-button on map2n?

Hi, I noticed in recent releases of RouterOS there is a /system routerboard mode-button menu where you can set a script to run when the mode button is pressed This doesn't appear to work at all on my wap2n and if I enable it then do a print/export nothing is exported It would be nice if this could w...

Sucks about ports 17 and up :( Re: VLANs I'm surprised. when you upgraded to 6.41 it should've modified their interface parameter automatically, I'm also suprised setting them to the physical port actually works too because usually with a bridge you need to set the vlan's interface to the bridge. Perhaps it's a bug, your config looks fine to me. I also have a CRS125 with DHCP server running on the bridge interface with no issues whatsoever. I did notice that you had this under the bridge ports config {noformat} add bridge=bridge comment=defconf disabled=yes interface="WAN - SFP1" {...

Re: CRS125-24G-IN firmware 6.39

That's weird, all the ports should have worked, perhaps there is something wrong with the hardware? You could try resetting to defaults and see if you can get a lease on the higher ports. the default config places every port in the same vlan with a dhcp server configured to hand out addresses on the...

Re: CRS125-24G-IN firmware 6.39

You can configure vlans using the following config, note that it is extremely important that you run the master-port sets otherwise it will not work properly, the default sets every interfaces master-port to ether1 which essentially bridges the LANs and your WAN side connection. The NAT should have ...

This should be pretty easy to do without having to worry about vlans, with your requirement you can simply configure each interface as a network interface on the router. the following config should do the trick I think. You will want to adjust the ether1 ip and might want to add some rules to the fi...
