For Wifi, hAP lite can be managed by Capsman?
Any device running RouterOS with wireless interfaces can be managed by CAPsMAN. That includes the hAP lite.

Ubiquiti makes a POE switch that can support both 802.3af and passive 24V POE output, selectable per port - in fact they make 2, the EdgeSwitch and the Unifi switch. Note that I've never used them personally, I just know they exist.

WDS is meant for mesh networking, and really wouldn't be the right solution for a point to point link.

If you only have one SSID, then using the SSID Regexp field is probably meaningless for you. It's optional.

RB3011 is relatively new and you should ask local Mikrotik distributors about availability. In the US some distributors just got their first stock this week I think. hAP AC is brand new and is pretty much only available in Latvia so far.... still looking at a 2+ week wait here in the US, not sure ab...

if all devices in each LAN have this central router as their default gateway, and this router has the appropriate routes in place (should come up automatically when setting the IP address as 172.16.16.1/24 and 192.168.1.1/27) then the devices should be able to reach each other.

the problem I see with both of these posted replies is that both use "check-gateway = ping" but OP stated that the Uverse (primary gateway) is always up because it can't be bridged.

someone else can correct me if I'm wrong - but doesn't the DHCP server on RouterOS default to a 10 minute DHCP lease? Maybe that is what is keeping his WDMyBook up - it has to keep renewing it's IP? I always set my DHCP leases to 1day for residential uses.
