station bridge + AP in one device?

Is it possible for CPE device to serve local wifi without a separate AP device?

SXTsq series as CPE, site is power constrained and every watt counts.
Does WDS require L4 license on CPE? WDS is still not compatible with bridge (what happens to Ethernet port in WDS mode)? Thanks.

Re: web UI Firewall rule click/drag

This is a sensitivity issue. On Firefox there is no issue but on Chrome the chances of click treated as drag is much higher 2 applications I have seen (one is Mikrotik Firefox UI, the other is eve-ng/unetlab)

web UI Firewall rule click/drag

When I try to click on a firewall rule to open it, often it tries to drag the rule and I have to try 5+ times to open the rule. I have been having this issue for quite some time on Chrome stable

Re: v6.41 [current]

log overwriting broke? It looks like after mem log is full, new logs are all "item add", "item removed" garbage. These logs should have been firewall drop actions.

I disabled fast track and still QoS has no effect. CM <> Eth1 RB750GR3 Eth5 vlan10 <> LAN router How should I configure interface queues for ingress, egress physical interface, egress VLAN? What does it mean when queue type and active queue type is different? Or it is irrelevant/active should be que...

Re: Missing Wiki doc for /ipv6 dhcp-relay

That is an entirely different topic. For DHCPv6-PD from your provider you use DHCPv6 client, not relay. Just configure it, specifying the interface name of the link to your provider (PPPoE interface if it is used) and enter some arbitrary name for the pool. The client will request the prefix and pu...

RB750Gr3 6.40.4 CBWFQ QoS?

100Mbps down/10Mbps up Cable Internet connection, HEX as CE router between cable modem and LAN router. I am trying to shape the traffic (especially WAN -> LAN) so a large download doesn't significantly impact network performance. 5% for real time traffic, LLQ (strict priority, no queuing) 30% for st...

IPv6 stateful firewall drop unknown connections catching tons of TCP RST

common stateful firewall setup, 1 rule to allow incoming established/related connections followed by a rule to drop all other. I noticed a lot of dropped TCP RST on Google HTTPS connections. IIRC similar was happening on IPv4 and extending IPv4 conntrack timer reduces these logs to a certain degree....

Re: Missing Wiki doc for /ipv6 dhcp-relay

I don't quite understand the configuration. My ISP provides DHCPv6-PD. I would like my WAN router to relay DHCPv6 request from LAN router. So how should I configure it on the WAN router? The DHCPv6 server address is link local

dhcpv6-pd server and client on the same device?

ISP provides a /56 via DHCPv6-PD, I would like to use RouterOS as DHCPv6-PD server to hand out a /57 from the /56 pool received by ISP. Is this currently supported?

Re: vlan trunking

I just can't figure out how switch VLAN works on RG750G. And it gets difficult to troubleshoot because NICs strip the 802.1q tags if there is any.

vlan trunking

It seems like 802.1q config is so conterintuitive on RouterOS. http://i.imgur.com/RVB5FlDl.png CRS125 as access switch eth1 to client computers untagged (or an unmanaged switch), untagged on link, vlan 10 eth2 to hypervisor, 802.1q trunk carrying vlan 10, 11, 12 eth24 to gateway RB750G, 802.1q trunk...
