@neg2led: Thanks, this is what I have been looking for, a working sequence of steps, not the "could do" / "option" / "maybe" / "try" one gets otherwise. Though not preferrable, I can live with using WinBox and I understand the advantages L2 access gives in my...

Factory reset it, connect to it with Winbox, and when prompted remove the default configuration entirely. This will disable wifi and remove the IP addresses and all other configuration. Now, connect it to your PC over ethernet, open Winbox, and go to the "Neighbors" tab. You will see the d...

Re: The big CCR2004 reboot thread (was 2004 hardware issues?)

What's the alternative? The equivalent Cisco would cost 100 times as much. It depends on use cases: > BGP/OSPF with VRF: i will definetly go with ARISTA ( example: ARISTA DCS-7050QX-32S ) > 10G NAT: hard question ( example: Cisco 6504E + 2x Sup2T; Juniper MX240/MX480; HPE HSR6804 ) > 1k PPPOE BRAS ...

Re: RBcAPL-2nD with 802.3af/at PSE

I have corrected. There are T568A at the patch panel and 568B near the AP. I have to use crossover cable.
Sounds to me like you need to re-terminate one end of that cable - structured cabling shouldn't be a crossover!

Re: v6.41rc [release candidate] is released! New bridge implementation!

I think we might be missing the forest for the trees here, guys. MT say that the reduction here shouldn't make a difference. In this post by strods from page 7, strods says that neither of the routerOS RADIUS client processes will wait more than 3 seconds even if the timeout setting is greater than ...

Re: More info about mUPS

Hi! Is there any way to turn off the battery charging :?: In solar systems, the battery capacity is hundreds of amperes per hour and there is no sense in charging them via mUPS. :( If you don't need the battery charging feature, you don't need mUPS. Without charging, it's just a dumb PoE injector w...

Re: Wireless wire 60Ghz default password

You're right - but with the packaging materials and pre-paired nature of these units, it's pretty clear MT is trying to make something that they can sell on the shelves of electronics/computer parts stores. An actual consumer product, for a change - instead of something aimed at nerds like us. Someo...

Re: SW EM7305

This page: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Supported_Hardware lists only MC73xx as working. And none of your other models. The MC7305 and EM7305 are the same module with different form-factor. MC = mini PCIe, EM = M.2 NGFF. A simple passive adapter is all that's required to make them nearly indistin...

Re: mAP Lite not broadcasting wifi

I actually mentioned in the OP that I'd tried resetting config. I found the problem though. Both devices appear to have shipped configured to have wifi off. Double tapping the single button on the unit (WPS/RESET) while it is powered up turned wifi on. All works now. Why it was shipped like this &am...

Re: mAP Lite not broadcasting wifi

Have you ever try to configure it, or you just try to power it on? :D Try to winbox 192.168.88.1 on the ethernet Just powered the unit on. They're only configurable over wifi according to the manual, by default the ethernet should be set up as a WAN interface w/o remote access. (They only have one ...

mAP Lite not broadcasting wifi

Hey guys, I got two mAP Lites in the mail today from a local distributor (Duxtel in Australia) and no matter how I try neither of them will broadcast a wireless network. They're happy to connect to ethernet but no matter how long I leave them turned on the wifi light stays off and no 'mikrotik' SSID...
