Re: Tunnel which generates least traffic when IDLE

Is that 400mb / day realistic? This translate to a continuous stream of data at about 5KB / s ??? Just pinging and rekeying isn't that expensive! On my L2TP IPsec (aes256+sha256) I hace constant flow of 3 packets per second (1.5 kbps) from client (RB2011) to server (Hex S). That makes about 16 MB p...

Tunnel which generates least traffic when IDLE

Hi,
I need a tunnel from an external MT to the main router.
When I configure an L2TP Tunnel, it gererates about 400MB of Traffic per Day when IDLE.
Do you have any suggestion which tunneltype and/or configuration i shoud use, when "minimal idle traffic with "some" security" has priority?

!) upgrade - release channels renamed - "bugfix" to "long-term", "current" to "stable" and "release candidate" to "testing"; That's good, but we need another channel named oldstable, where 6.42 should go and stay for at least several weeks. At least do make downgrading more seamless when necessary.

After Upgrade from 3.34.6, all NAT rules got an non existing "in-interface-list" set. Example in-interface-list=*1389 resulting in all rules stopped working. The number (1389) is increasing in each rule. when i remove this manually, everything seems to work. I could only see this in NAT rules, all o...

is it possible when using wireless-rep and wlan1 is currently NOT connected, that i can use wlan1-subdevice in AP-mode? Currently, the virtual subdevice in the repeater-config is always automatically disabled, when wlan1 doesnt get a connection. This makes the repeater-mode somehow useless for me. D...

Please consider releasing a 2nd release-version of this device with more NAND, at least 32MB. I like the device, and i like the proce, but 16MB NAND is almost to less to debug the device.
