Re: Need to set daily limit 100mb for 30 days (month)

Hi Zacharias,

Thanks for the reply,

Right now I have set validity. I don't know if that will work, will check later.

Need to set daily limit 100mb for 30 days (month)

Hi,
I'm using RB951 series with userman. Can anyone tell how to set daily internet limit let's say 100mb per day and want to set it for 30 days (a month).

Thank you.

Linking multiple dishes (within 8KM), need advice.

Hi,
I hope you all are doing well.

I need an advice on this.

We have multiple (5-9) locations. Which MikroTic dish is suitable that can cover around 5-8KM and what options (or license level) it should have that can support multiple linking?

Thank you

Need hotspot device information

Hi,
Which MikroTic product is better in handling the hotspot (captive portal) users. It should be able to handle at least 200 (500 max) concurrent users. Would it be possible?

For demo purposes, I received this device:
RB951Ui-2nd (hAP serries)

Thanks

Re: AP Bridge Mode (SXT Lite5) License

Here's a very clear link test with valuable configuration for a pair of SXT on a 1km link.

Re: AP Bridge Mode (SXT Lite5) License

If it's going to work or not, MikroTik has a calculator somewhere, which allows you to compute theoretical signal levels and I think speed too. But until you actually try in real world, you can't be sure. Difference between "ap-bridge" and "bridge" is that the latter is limited ...

Re: AP Bridge Mode (SXT Lite5) License

First one. And remember, this is just configuration of the link itself. If you want to have one big network as it seems, you need to remove default configs and bridge wlan and ethernet interfaces together. And yes, you probably want to use same 192.168.1.x addresses for SXTs, unless you have differ...

Re: AP Bridge Mode (SXT Lite5) License

I'd say "station" or "station-bridge", see here what you need. Thanks again So what i need is this: Clients (192.168.1.x) ---> Bridge <- - - - - - - -> Station Bridge <--- Clients (192.168.1.x). I think this one. OR Clients (192.168.1.x) ---> Station Bridge <- - - - - - - -> Sta...

Re: AP Bridge Mode (SXT Lite5) License

If only one client device is enough for you, use "bridge" mode.
Thanks mate.

You mean I can use one device as bridge? What mode should I set to the another device? Station WDS? Can I be able to connect 2 networks by this method?

Thanks

AP Bridge Mode (SXT Lite5) License

Hi, Hope you all are doing well. Recently I have purchased 2 SXT Lite5 device to connect two lan network at the distance of 1km-2km. I tried to select AP Bridge mode but its saying: "Could not change interface <wlan1-gateway> - license does not allow ap mode 6" Here is the device informati...

Re: Connecting to layer3 switch via RouterBoard.

One question ZeroByte, setting "switchport" in Cisco, enables the Layer3. Does enabling layer3 is needed in Mikrotik or your steps are enough? Thanks again. Actually, it's "no switchport" that makes an interface layer3-only. (i.e. it disables layer 2) "switchport" woul...

Re: Connecting to layer3 switch via RouterBoard.

Thanks ZeroByte and Revelation. Thanks for the steps ZeroByte and for the explanation, I will try your way, thank you. 10.1.200.1 is a Cisco switch IP, so I need to set Mikrotik interface IP 10.1.200.2/24=ether1. Scenario the ISP has: Cisco switch and gateway: 10.1.200.1/24 DNS: 82.x.x.1 Yes, ISP ro...

Re: Connecting to layer3 switch via RouterBoard.

One more thing. They said that if I use Cisco switch (for example 3560 series) then it will work. The configuration on the switch should be like this. config t interface giga* no switchport ip addr 172.20.123.2 255.255.255.252 ip routing vlan10 interface vlan10 ip addr 10.1.200.1 255.255.255.0 inter...

Re: Connecting to layer3 switch via RouterBoard.

Yes the ISP gave me the vlan scope 172.20.123.0/30 and 10.1.200.0/24 for clients to use internet otherwise no internet. The client will get internet if they have set 10.x.x.x IP. The ISP said that you have to use layer3 switch in order to get internet. Ether5 port is going out. Ether1 is for local u...

Re: Connecting to layer3 switch via RouterBoard.

Revelation: Thanks for the reply. They gave just these VLAN IPs 172.20.123.0/30 and 10.1.200.0/24 to use Internet. When a client has 10.x.x.10 IP then it can connect to Internet through Layer3 switch. Same thing If possible I want to use it on Mikrotik. I don't know much about the Mikrotik but I tri...
