Re: Large file copying to my NAS kills Wifi and LAN for all other home users

Looks like this didn't solve my problem.
Did some extensive tests with cake Queue set to all interfaces (except default Bridge; couldn't set it).
Still network stops for everybody (LAN and WAN) during file copying between PC and NAS.

Any ideas what to do next?

Re: Large file copying to my NAS kills Wifi and LAN for all other home users

Have not heard that such issue is "known". Try this: 1. in Queues menu, go to Queue Types 2. add new, select type "cake", type any name for it, and leave everything else to default, click OK 3. go to interface queues tab and set all interfaces to the new cake type see if this ma...

Re: Large file copying to my NAS kills Wifi and LAN for all other home users

Where should I start looking at? First you have to diagnose what exactly means "freezes all other network traffic". Obviously that's not exactly the case as your own observation goes: you can still get very decent throughput from your PC to internet (or is it the other way around?). Think...

Re: Large file copying to my NAS kills Wifi and LAN for all other home users

I had exactly same issue at customer with same rotuer and qnap nas, actual ports would go down while you copy files(other ones that don't copy traffic) ,sent mikrotik support logs and they told me I'm not suposed to use it as switch, like Wtf mikrotik ? And issue persisted from v6 to most recent v7...

Large file copying to my NAS kills Wifi and LAN for all other home users

My setup: hAP ac² mostly default config with some minor changes (port forward etc.). All PCs and NAS connected either directly or via unmanaged switch. NAS is connected via switch. If I copy a big file to my NAS (PC -> hAP ac² -> switch -> NAS) it freezes all other network traffic. No matter if othe...

What exactly causes 100% CPU load?

My router is constantly being DDOS'ed (don't ask me why :) ). I made some scripts and see that during ddos my CPU is loaded 60% which makes it inaccessible. But in particular CPU 3 is loaded 100% by some firewall operations (from the Profile tool). How to know exactly what FW rules are being process...

Re: RB951G-2HnD WAN to LAN performance

Looks like my problem is solved. I tested with few other routers (including official ISP provided router) and still I was getting just 100Mbps with speedtest. Contacted ISP and they updated firmware in FB->Eth converter. No other changes were made. Speedtest now shows 300Mbps: http://i.imgur.com/qM9...

Re: RB951G-2HnD WAN to LAN performance

Can you test with http://www.speedtest.net
I tested. And I'm not getting more than 100Mbps with speedtest.net. While other applications allow me to achieve 200Mbps.

Re: RB951G-2HnD WAN to LAN performance

OK. Did everything as you said: Enabled Fasttrack. I can see it works because CPU load dropped from 70-80% to 20% when fasttrack fw rule is enabled. CPU load goes up if I disable the rule. So it works. Checked WAN interface - it is still 1Gbps. Torrent download with Fasttrack enabled speed didn't ch...

Re: RB951G-2HnD WAN to LAN performance

Can you test with speedtest? Is fastrack enable? Hi, Speedest still shows 100Mbps download and upload :( Fasttrack was not enabled. Still have to figure how to enable it. I disabled all my fw rules and added only those two: /ip firewall filter add chain=forward action=fasttrack-connection connectio...

Re: RB951G-2HnD WAN to LAN performance

And here's another update. Three torrent sessions generated no more than 210Mbps of traffic. Is this limitation of the Mikrotik router or my ISP or torrent seeds - I don't know and can't test. Router CPU is not yet 100% loaded. Anyway - problem solved. I can go now beyond 100Mbps and that's OK for n...

Re: RB951G-2HnD WAN to LAN performance

I made some progress. My Fibre->LAN converter: ZTE ZXHN F601 PON ONT and it is 1Gbps capable: http://enterprise.zte.com.cn/en/products/network_lnfrastructure/broadband_access/xpon_olt/201406/t20140610_424776.html I started by disconnecting router from the converter and connecting back and rate is no...

You are totally right. Rate is 100Mbps in Status tab :(

Will check now the cables and converter as you suggested.

Re: RB951G-2HnD WAN to LAN performance

Router gets IP via DHCP: http://i.imgur.com/aI0jRi2.jpg 1000M is enabled on WAN port (I assume it's a gateway interface). 1000M is enabled on LAN ports as well. And you can also see in the screenshot that one interface generates 99Mbps traffic (I'm testing download speed at the moment). http://i.img...

RB951G-2HnD WAN to LAN performance

Hi all, Well there's a table at the bottom of this page: http://routerboard.com/RB951G-2HnD And we can see that this router is capable to achieve from 31Mbps to almost 1Gbps. But I would like to know what is real life performance of the default configuration router and normal daily traffic (torrents...
