As an FttH ISP we use Mikrotik hAP series routers for our endusers. We started years ago with the hAP ac, we changed to ac2 and now we ship ax2 routers. We like the ac2 and ax2 because of the small form-factor and internal antenna's (ofcourse external antenna's might work better, work are a lot more...
wifiwave2 is an implementation of drivers from the manufacturer of the chipset, rather than an in-house written driver (which wireless is). So there are many small details that are missing or incomplete... this is only one of them. We can only hope that over time, some things are coming back. But l...
Just checked with RouterOS 7.9 but no difference, still no information about wireless link quality.. [.id] => *1 [interface] => wifi2 [ssid] => Studios070-XXXX [mac-address] => A0:92:08:CC:0B:B6 [uptime] => 21s [signal] => -32 [tx-rate] => 1000000 [rx-rate] => 2000000 [packets] => 17,22 [bytes] => 2...
It's not that we necessarily need the SNR of TXCCQ values, but some value about connection quality would be highly appreciated.
And I'm sure that this is available since WebFig is able to visualize the performance (height and color in the clients graph).
Our company (a FttH ISP) recently started shipping hAP ax2 (we used to ship hAP ac2). All routers are managed / provisioned from our own system, with the new ax2 we decided to implement wifiwave2 (because of significant better performance). We've adjusted all provisioning code to support both tradit...
We've over 2000 hAP AC2's in our network, we do see the plastic degradation aswel. But it seems to be related to the temperature, routers we receive back from customer who have had the router close to their heating system / radiator are definitely showing more signs of this degradation. We also see ...
Hi LSan83, We've deployed hundreds (or even thousands) Mikrotik routers (in the beginnen hAP AC, later hAP AC2), we haven't seen any thermal issue actually. But maybe this is because most routers are often idle, because people use their internet connection primarily for browsing and streaming so onl...
Olivier, We are a FttH network operator and ISP, our customers receive a fiber optic modem (DKT Comega series: https://dktcomega.com/product/juma-series/) which is basically a managed switch / media-converter and a Mikrotik hAP AC2 as router. The major networks in our country are beginning to offer ...
We are hoping / wondering if a hAP AC2 successor is on the roadmap, with at least: - WiFi 6 support - nBase-T / 2.5G / 5G RJ45 port(s) It's not that the technology is currently unavailable or too expensive, brands like TP-Link offer WiFi 6 capable routers for < €40. Preferable in a semi robust tiny ...
Having exactly the same issue on CRS326-24S+2Q+ (running different versions, currently 6.49) physically unplugging SFP module and reinserting also makes the link working again.
It turned out to be a physical issue with the SIM-card connector pins, not all pins actually had contact with the inserted SIM-card.
We've bended the problematic pins and it instantly worked!
Just tried to configure a brand new hAP AC3 LTE to function as a LTE / 4G router. But the hAP AC3 keeps saying "SIM not inserted". The SIM works perfectly in an iPhone and has worked in another hAP AC3 LTE before. The device is running 6.48.1 (both packages and routerboard firmware) Also t...
One of the problem ports is my switch uplink port... We've uplinked the device using a QSFP+ (40G) port, this port has never given any issue. We can confirm that the issue seems to be related to either high utilization or the sum of data (packets / bytes, not sure) transferred. We've not done any f...
Just took the time to test it on a hAP ac² with the same software, since this device is quite similar in architecture. But it also works on a hAP ac² so it's not something architecture (ARM) related. USB port working on hAP ac² https://i.ibb.co/4f5ZY79/gps-hap-ac2.png As far as I can analyse the pro...
Still experiencing this issues.. logged the issue 'SUP-23910', no response yet.
Received a response, we were asked to return the affected switches to Mikrotik for investigation....
First switch is currently with DHL on its way to Mikrotik (via the distributor in Czech Republic).
Hi guys, Trying to get a USB GPS / Glonass device working on a Mikrotik hAP ac³, the device is installed in a mobile home / RV and the idea is to create a script that periodically reads out the coordinates and when 'significant' movement is detected pushes the new coordinates to a server using the L...
After days of continuous operation of a CRS354-48G-4S+2Q+ with v6.48beta12, we just experienced the same problem on another port-group (17-24). Rebooting the switch 'solves' the problem, wondering if the root-cause of the problem is already found? This problem basiscly makes this switch unusable for...
24 hours without the problem. Have to admit that we changed two things: - Updated software and firmware to 6.48beta12 - Moved devices to higher ports, leaving only 1 device connected to the 'affected' ports Will move the devices back from the higher port numbers to the initial ones (in the 1-8 range...
Experiencing the same problem on two CRS354-48G-4S+2Q+ devices, tried multiple routeros / firmware versions (6.46.4, 6.46.5, 6.46.6, 6.47 and 6.47.1), now trying 6.48beta12.. disabling -> enabling (individual) ports does not seem to resolve the issue, rebooting the whole device does resolve the issu...
Experimented with 6.47 (upgraded from 6.46.6) on a Mikrotik CCR1072, after the upgrade the 6-to-4 tunnels stopped working. TX on both sides but no RX... The "Tx/Rx Drops" counter increases (but is lower than the "Tx/Rx Packet" value, although the is no traffic coming trough). The...
Hi we power hundreds of hAP AC's with PoE using ZTEcom PoE 802.11at midspan's (rack mountable 24 port injectors).
I'm not sure if this device is actually PoE compliant (active) or passive, this might be the problem...
Also done some testing with UBNT PoE injectors.
@macgaiver, interesting finding / comment (regarding STP relation)!
I do have RSTP enabled on a bridge interface but this is not / does not contain the PPPoE interface.
Hi nescafe2002, I did these topic updates because of the fact that PPPoE became broken (in 6.38), fixed (in 6.39rc), broken (in a newer 6.39rc) and fixed again (in another 6.39rc). So I thought it might help to have the next 'stable' release not having this issue.. I by the way just did a downgrade ...
Upgraded to 6.39rc17, and (as expected based on the changelog) it still works fine :) What's new in 6.39rc17 (2017-Jan-23 16:30): *) capsman - added save-channel option to speed up frequency selection on CAPsMAN restart; *) capsman - added support for static virtual interfaces on CAP; *) dude - (cha...
Today I did the upgrade to 6.39rc7 but again PPPoE client seems broken?
Another thing I noticed is that a PPTP session just runs fine, so its not PPP in general but more like PPPoE specific?
After a downgrade to 6.37.3 it works fine (instant).
Hi guys, Just updated the CCR at my house (one of our testing sites :D) but since this upgrade the PPPoE connection (one of the two uplinks to internet) is broken. The logs show (every 20 sec): pppoe1: initializing... pppoe1: connecting... pppoe1: terminating... - failed to authenticate our selves t...
Dear all, The answer is (now) clear (enough), the device won't support MPLS Label Switching, and this is what I was looking for... So this new CRS will not be the solution for us, can we expect a new Cloud Core Router device with more than 8 SFP+ ports (or a CRS with label switching support via ASIC...
Dear Mikrotik, We became very enthousiast when reading the Newsletter #74, since it included the announcement of the CRS317-1G-16S+RM. We currently use multiple CCR1072's in the core of our network to 'aggregate' all the sites using 10Gbit links, all sites (buildings) are connected using CCR1016-12S...
I was wondering if we could expect a Mikrotik (Cloud Router) Switch with 'many' SFP ports, the type number above is (as far a I know :-P) non-existing but should have: - 24 SFP ports - 2 SFP+ ports Also wondering if a switch with multiple (for example 8 like to CCR1072 or even more) SFP+ ports is on...
