Re: eBGP / iBGP configuration questions

Thanks Alexcherry. Regarding 1: - I have read that if I use the same instance, route selection will work differently (distance will be ignored, which would be better in my case). Below quote is available here : Best path algorithm compares routes received by a single BGP instance. Routes installed b...

eBGP / iBGP configuration questions

Hi everyone! I have two BGP routers (bgp1 and bgp2) with one eBGP peer on each and iBGP in between. Currently I use different BGP instances for eBGP and iBGP. Routes learned with iBGP instance got a distance of 200 and eBGP have 20. This results in eBGP routes being preferred even if AS_PATH is long...

Re: hardware selection

I would like to let you know the CCR1009 died a few weeks back. We have replaced it with a RB1100AHx2.
We are now using RB1100AHx2 for both, BGP and FW (not the same units ofcourse).

Re: Is there something wrong with ccr1009-8g-1s-1s+ ?

I know this is an old thread, but we just had to replace a faulty CCR1009. It died after ~2 months in production. Replaced it with a RB1000AHx2.

The CCR1009 died with no indication of any problems. No lights, no sound, nothing. We are waiting on our supplier for a replacement.

Re: about L2MTU

Thanks for your response, I found it.

Version 6.36:
*) bonding - implemented l2mtu value == smallest slave interfaces l2mtu;

Since L2MTU isn't available on the CHR interfaces, why is L2MTU set on the bonded interfaces?

about L2MTU

I have two routers: - physical RB1100AHx2 RouterOS 6.35.4 - virtual CHR RouterOS 6.37.1 1) On both routers I see at least two interfaces (RB1100AHx2 has more, but lets ignore those for now): RB11000AHx2 # NAME TYPE ACTUAL-MTU L2MTU MAX-L2MTU MAC-ADDRESS 0 RS ether1bond ether 1500 1598 9498 12:34:56:...

Re: v6.37.1 [current] is released!

I think I found a bug in this version. I am using a CHR version. I am unable to create VLAN interafce with MTU size 1500 on a bonded interface. Both interfaces are passed-through from the host (pci devices exposed to the guest) Working example on a physical interface: [admin@MikroTik] > /interface v...

Support suggested an upgrade. I have upgraded to v6.35.1. The router did not crash since the upgrade - 3 weeks in.

hardware selection

Hi! I am trying to accomplish almost exact thing as is described here ( http://robert.penz.name/779/howto-setup-a-redundant-and-secure-bgp-full-table-internet-connection-with-mikrotik-routers/ ). The difference is I only have 2 uplinks, 100mbit each. Could you please advise if this hardware is good ...

RESOLVED: Router reboot without proper shutdown

Hi! So, our router (CHR 6.34.3) is occasionally crashing / rebooting. The crash times match with our backup solution: $name = router.hostname $output = /backup/path ssh admin@$name export file=$name sftp admin@$name:$name.rsc $output/ We first configured the backup to run at 00:00 and we experienced...

Re: How to load drivers?

Hetzner happily replaced the NIC with a supported one - "Intel 82574L".
CHR now works like a charm.

Thank you all for your help.

Re: How to load drivers?

Provider of the host is Hetzner. The IP (assigned to the dedicated server) is bound to the MAC address. This is my uplink. The second interface is linked to my "private" switch (which can be bridged and exposed with virtio) which links our dedicated servers and works without problems. I need to expo...

Re: How to load drivers?

Yes it is. It is a KVM guest. The network card (host device) must be passed to the guest, since the IP is linked to the MAC address. I have tried the CHR with the same results.

Re: How to load drivers?

Are there plans to make one or should I just try to change my hardware? Changing hardware is a long shot since it's hosted remotely by a 3rd party.

RESOLVED: How to load drivers?

Hi!

I would like to use Intel I200 card which should work with "igb" driver.
I guess RouterOS v6.34.3 doesn't load the driver. Is there a way to load the driver manually?

The device on the screenshot is 00:06.0.
