I've noticed that printers can go crazy with the amount of snmp requests, so you could also try setting snmp to a no-snmp profile (snmp version: none).
I do not see any problems wifh snmpp yet.

Re: Help to choose mikrotik router

I think you should separate your needs for a router and wifi. To provide assistance, one needs to know more about your wifi coverage area. How many rooms, floors, type of walls etc... and where they are in relation to the current wifi router location. How many wired outlets are in the house? I have...

Help to choose mikrotik router

I have currently hAP AC 962UiGS-5HacT2HnT router at home. It was always not so good for wifi, and since last mikrotik update I have even more wifi problems than before - range, not stable connection, even close-by devices cannot connect. Thinking to update router. I like mikrotik, so I do not really...

WAN port in WISP AP bridge mode

Is WAN port gonna work in WISP AP (bridge mode) ?
I have tried with RB941-2nD and seems like this port is off
In router mode port is working good, so port itself is alive.

Re: What does it really measure: "Tx/Rx Signal Strength (dBm)"?

I'll assume that units in winbox are right ... Whenever some quantity is expressed in dB, this means logarithm (base 10) of ratio between two values with same unit ... which makes ratio unit-less. E.g. "my index finger is 3dB longer than my child's index finger" ... in decimal units that ...

What does it really measure: "Tx/Rx Signal Strength (dBm)"?

What does it really mean? http://sergeskor.no-ip.org/Files/Tech/4/mktk_capture.PNG Received signal strength (RSSI) on client side (how strong is the router's signal at the client)? Received signal strength on the router side (how strong is the client's signal at the router)? May be it should show bo...

"Where traffic can be easily sniffed by 3rd parties you should establish secure connection anyway."

Ok, now on not secured connection we have to pass password as open plain text, which is unsecured even more :-(.
Are there any advantages of post-6.43 login method?

Mikrotik, are there any explanations?

Re: simple switch and WiFi AP (no dhcp, no nat)

I think "Home AP" in quick set should do.
No, Home AP will create another IP subnet for wifi and wired clients on lan ports. This is exactly I would like to avoid.
I need just switch and wifi AP, no dhcp server, no nat, no another ip subnet, no masquerading.

simple switch and WiFi AP (no dhcp, no nat)

Hello, i have a home network based on another router (given by provider), which i do not want to change. I would like to use Mikrotik router as simple switch (for wired clients) and wireless AccessPoint (same IP subnet, no dhcp, no nat). Which standard configuration is for that? If none - how can i ...

Re: How to read file content using API?

You can't directly with api. Download file via ftp and then read content locally.
Bad.. :-(.

Is this bug? or feature? It was working with some older versions of firmware. Are there any hope it may work in future versions?

Re: How to read file content using API?

/file/get
=.id=*D034A
=.proplist=contents
Ok, this one is working (for small files), thank you.
The way how i did it before:
/file/print
=.proplist=contents
?name=filename.ext
is also working (only for small files).

Still question is how to get >4Kb file content, using API?

Re: How to read file content using API?

You will not get file content if file size is larger than 4KB.
But it was definitely working for larger files, i have tried with export file (.rsc)...

Ok, how can I get file content if size is smaller than 4KB?

I have some application, running Mikrotik API commands to export configuration to the .rsc file and save it as a file on the computer. Re: NAT Loopback, for all ports.

Instead of getting NAT loopback working, in my opinion it would make more sense to solve this by DNS. Have your MikroTik work as a DNS server for your clients and have all services that run internally resolved to the internal IP address. I have just setup static dns record, it solves a lot of probl...

Re: NAT Loopback, for all ports.

The old setup was working because your provider's router was doing the loopback. There is no single rule to reroute incoming traffic through the prerouting chain of your WAN, so that DNAT rules are obeyed. The solution could be to rewrite those DNAT and input rules, so they don't use interfaces on ...
