RB2011 switch configuration, groups, external interfaces

Hi. I have a problem understanding the correct switch configuration of an RB-2011 router. The model is RB2011L with two ATheros switch chips, one Ath8327, one Ath8227. I need 5 routed ports, two switched ports. All need to talk to each other. The docs at https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Switch_...

Welcome to the forum Ekki!
Always nice to see people from the old packet network days.
Hello Rob,
now that's a long time ago :D
How far have we come along, from 1200 bps packet radio on a 25 kHz channel to 150 MBit/s links (or more) on 80 MHZ :)

Re: New device plugged in: new default route in another router?

Looks like you have a DHCP-Client enabled on your LAN-facing interface (which IMHO doesn't make sense at all) with the add-default-route=yes parameter. Remove this and the problem should be gone. But beware that the Sextant will still act as DHCP server in your LAN - so clients which connect right ...

Re: OS Version dependant scripting

Ok, thanks for the reply.

Is it too much to ask why there is such a limitation?

Thanks,
Ekki

Re: OS Version dependant scripting

Thanks Bartosz, that looks interesting :) My goal is not only to get the script working, but to udnerstand where and why it fails. I assume that the ICE is trying to interpret the lines of the script, whether they are executed or not. This attempt at interpretation is leading to the syntax error, be...

OS Version dependant scripting

Hi. I have problems to write a script which takes the RouterOS Version into consideration. I start off with the following: :global sysversion :set $sysversion [/system package get [/system package find name=system] version] and if I test it with a simple decision like: :if ($sysversion<"6.19&qu...
