Re: Can’t factory reset SwOS on CRS328-24P-4S+

I just returned the unit. It was more than I expected anyway. I knew it had the PoE stuff (which I didn’t want or need) but didn’t realize what a monster the unit was.

I hoping for a CSS332-24G-8S+ happens to show up at some point in the near future....

Re: Can’t factory reset SwOS on CRS328-24P-4S+

A SwOS device will appear in the neighbor list in Winbox but you cannot connect to it using winbox. As I said, I'll have to take your word on that - None of my five MT switches are seen on the neighbor list on WinBox 3.18. I don't even see all of my MT routers in the neighbor list. I even confirmed...

No. My router is not reporting it as a active client on the network.

WinBox does display SwOS devices, it just doesn’t connect to them. WinBox is telling me the IP is 0.0.0.0

Can’t factory reset SwOS on CRS328-24P-4S+

I installed a new CRS328-24P-4S+ a couple of days ago and want to run it in SwOS. After booting in RouterOS, I navigated to the boot selection and changed it. I selected DHCP Only in SwOS, rebooted the box, and now I can’t access it. WinBox says it has an IP of 0.0.0.0 Even a full factory reset does...

I was having the same issue on my 317 with 2.7. Now I’m on 2.8 and while the link issue appears to be resolved, a much worse issue has appeared. The switch intermittently stops passing traffic. This includes accessing the GUI. I might have to revert back to 2.7 myself and just bounce the ports like ...

Re: Does anyone have a block diagram for the CSS326-24G-2S+?  [SOLVED] [SOLVED]

I think you misread those diagrams. It is not a controller for each port group. It is a octal PHY (physical interface transceivers to MII converters, 8x1Gb eth to 2x4Gb MII in this case) for each group, and it has no user relevance unless one gets blown out and knocks out the whole group. The contr...

So... I'm going to assume that, at the very least, the way the switch controllers are configured are the same as the CRS.

A controller for each group of 8 gigabit ports and one for the 10gig ports.

they don't. it depends on how the driver detects the WWAN device. - some work as native LTE. you have full speed, direct connection (/interface lte) - some work as LTE "hilink" - where the WWAN device acts as a _router_ and does NAT44 and there is a DHCPv4 server listening on it, so your ...

mPCIe WWAN cards (3G, LTE) actually work as USB devices. that's why the mentioned "external enclosure" is priced so attractively - it's just a set of wires, SIM breakout and voltage regulators to provide 3.3V to the card. there's no PCIe communication in the game. this is the reason why m...

Netgear box does look interesting. Don't know why it only supports B2, 4, 5, 12. Seems to be for Verizon only here in the US? Leaves me out or I'd get one to try.
Those are the AT&T bands. Verizon would be 2, 4, 5, 13, and 66.

Re: New RB3011UiAS-RM - not impressed with throughput...

So.... I just ordered one of these today because I learned the expensive way that a CRS-226 really doesn't make a very good router.... I'm brand new to Mikrotik but I can tell you that after 14 days and a few hundred dollars I'll be an expert.... Good or bad! Anyway, after my new CRS had a whopping ...

Make the first rule of the forward chain be this:
Connection-state=established,related action=fast track-connection
Ok. So. This looks like something I do in telnet. So far I've done everything in the GUI.

Do you have the roadmap to these settings?

Re: CRS226 Newbie! HELP! Dirt basic setup HELP is what I need! Please!

I changed to range to 101-254 and it was ok with that. So.... The last issue is the throughput... How do I get traffic to pass at a decent speed? I have a 200/20Mbps from TWC and I'm passing barely 40Mbps.... That's when it doesn't error out. Now, I've read about the queuing settings and changing it...

Re: CRS226 Newbie! HELP! Dirt basic setup HELP is what I need! Please!

Apparently it didn't like my DHCP range of 192.168.0.101-192.168.0.200 with a /24 subnet.

I'm not sure how to get around this. I want 192.168.0.2 - 10 to be reserved for static IP. Then 11 - 100 for DHCP reserved IP's.

Is there no way of getting around this?

Re: CRS226 Newbie! HELP! Dirt basic setup HELP is what I need! Please!

Ok. Port 1 says "R - ether1-master" which is connected to my WAN (modem).

Port 2 says "RS - ether2" which is the first port of my LAN and is connected to my computer.

Re: CRS226 Newbie! HELP! Dirt basic setup HELP is what I need! Please!

So I attempted to move Master from port 1 to port 2 but it won't let me do that... Right now port 1 is master and all the rest are slaves. Port one has my cable modem.

Re: CRS226 Newbie! HELP! Dirt basic setup HELP is what I need! Please!

I was able to connect with WinBox through the MAC address. It cleared out my gateway IP for some reason.... I put it back.

Re: CRS226 Newbie! HELP! Dirt basic setup HELP is what I need! Please!

Well.... I keep loosing connection to it so IDK.... It gives me an IP and gateway but when I try to connect or even ping the gateway I get destination unreachable.

Re: CRS226 Newbie! HELP! Dirt basic setup HELP is what I need! Please!

I did the reset through the touchscreen because I couldn't get into the unit via IP anymore. I screwed something up when attempting to have the DHCP Server assign the same IP's to particular MAC addresses. I checked both DHCP Server and NAT boxes which I assume was correct. Re: CRS226 Newbie! HELP! Dirt basic setup HELP is what I need! Please!

Ok.... I had to hard reset. I'm in WinBox. First it wiped all IP addresses out (including the default 192.168.88.1) so WinBox restored it. Mode=Router Addresses Acquisition=Automatic Local Network I want to change to 192.168.0.1 As the gateway. I check both boxes DHCP Server and NAT correct? Sent fr...

CRS226 Newbie! HELP! Dirt basic setup HELP is what I need! Please!

When I say basic.... I mean BASIC! A good example would be if D-Link made a $19 router with 24 GbE ports and two 10GbE ports that I could pick up at Best Buy? I totally wouldn't need this thing. But they don't.... So I'm stuck with it. I can't get it to route a simple packet from port 2 (my laptop) ...
