Re: Netinstall with EoIP/PXE: Not working?

Well I've just finished reloading the second SXT that I had bricked. Unlike the QRT, the SXT took about 10-15MB of data to get that initial boot phase sorted. Not sure why there was so much difference, but there was.

Re: Netinstall with EoIP/PXE: Not working?

Thread Mining, sorry about that. Just to confirm this remote netinstall is possible! That saves me a 600km round trip. So I purposefully bricked a QRT to test this remote netinstall. I ignored all the address settings in the netinstall wiki and just used the DHCP assigned address my RB953 handed out...

Well, it failed again, think i need more of a time differential to allow the POE powered devices more time to install, might make it 15 minutes. Well just as an update for everyone else, I did get the handoff working quote well by setting all the AP's with the same SSID. Leave the MAC's as individual and it seems to work quite well without the need for scripts to "kick" devices off weak AP's.

Re: Need Reccomendation for Omnidirectional device

I would suggest the majority of the equipment you find is going to struggle if you point it "bottom in to the rain" as that's where the water ingress protection is the weakest. That said the Metal52ac does have rubber grommet to pass the cable through which is quite a snug fit and the "latch bottom ...

There is something wrong with ROS 6.44 onwards. I just finally got sick of putting up with it.
My netgear MR1100 has been working pretty well for 6 months.
Since that update the internet speeds are glacial.

If I manually downgrade, its fine.

Re: Sierra MC7430 4g LTE-A mini-PCI-e Modem PPP issues

I'll second the Nighthawk M1. A little bit fiddly, doesn't always behave how you think, but once its setup it does go quite well. USB tethering works a treat, can get 80+ Mb/s over USB. Do have to use double NAT, unless you get a proper public IP from your provider, but that is no different to the M...
