Re: [Feature Request] Winbox and netinstall 64 Bit versions - URGENT

Well, right now I'm running macOS Catalina with a VM running Windows 7 just with Winbox running. It seems like a huge waste of resources, but it's the only way I found to run this application without having to ditch my beloved OS. If Codeweavers or Mikrotik could find a way to make this work it wou...

Re: [Feature Request] Winbox and netinstall 64 Bit versions - URGENT

It doesn't work anymore! That is what the request for details was about: they changed the details and now a new mactelnet is required.
Works with RouterOS 6.44.5 here ...

Re: [Feature Request] Winbox and netinstall 64 Bit versions - URGENT

The request is for a recompile of winbox into 64bit If the recompile is not possilble, it would be fantastic for Mikrotik to take a leaf from their heritage (Linux) and open source atleast the details of how the MAC protocols work I could maybe deal with Webfig, but the lack of MAC is the biggest p...

Re: VLAN and filtering on non-CRS3xx devices

Back to my main question: Is this understanding correct: So if understood/read this correctly, I can get VLAN filtering on non-CRS3xx devices like my RB3011, either by Using /interface bridge vlan and loosing hardware offload, or By using /interface ethernet switch And: But if I use the second (Swit...

VLAN and filtering on non-CRS3xx devices

... But still I wonder if my understanding is correct? :)
(I'm already running bridge based VLAN, but using the pre 6.41 way, one bridge per VLAN, thinking to update that to the new way. But thought maybe some performance comparison would be interesting. I don't have CPU issues at all on RB3011.) :D

VLAN and filtering on non-CRS3xx devices

If I have read post/threads like Bridge https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?p=670210#p670210 and wiki pages like https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/Bridge#Bridge_Hardware_Offloading and https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Basic_VLAN_switching#Other_devices_with_built-in_switch_ch...

Re: [Feature Request] Winbox and netinstall 64 Bit versions - URGENT

(Maybe it's considered bad to revive old threads/posts like this?) :?:

Getting a 64 bit version of Winbox should be more pressing now,
as more Linux distros talked about ditching 32 bit x86,
and macOS is dropping 32 bit support if I understood correctly ... :?: 8)

Post 6.41 VLAN setup

Hi! Currently running a bridge based VLAN setup, different bridges per VLAN (br-vlan-15 etc). Seems I should simplify this setup after 6.41. Not running on a CRS3xx (but on RB3011 and hAP AC), I'm trying to figure out how I should set it up. According to the Switch Chip Featues page ( https://wiki.m...

Re: Wireless-rep and non-Routerboards?

station-bridge is obviously not a option with your Apple AP, but you probably can try with station-wds .. I got around to test station-wds today. (This time on a RB912 5GHz device, with the 2.4GHz R11, in case that matters at all.) It didn't work. With the station pseudobrigde , the AP gets DHCP of...

Yes, I noticed the double NAT issue ... Still works well enough for this setup.

Re: USB LTE modem, buying choice and setup

I just tried the E3372 on a RBmAP2n, using the micro-USB to USB-cable. I was surprised that it seems to work nicely. (I thougth maybe the micro-USB-port wouldn't supply power/enough power, but it powers up, connects and lights up the blue LED ...) If it does get in trouble power-wise, how will I (mo...

Re: Wireless-rep and non-Routerboards?

There can be other problem. Are you able to connect in some client bridge mode to that Ap correctly? Maybe the Ap doesn't support the bridging on wifi at all. If so, you would need to route instead of to bridge if you want to keep using that Ap... If I set static IP on the connecting device, everyt...

Re: Wireless-rep and non-Routerboards?

Just for testing I tried setting up a wAP as repeater. Extending a WLAN created by a mAP2n/RouterOS works nice. (It creates a station bridge.) Extending a WLAN created by an Apple AP was a bit more troublesome: It created a station pseudobridge (station bridge would not work), and I can connect to t...

Re: USB LTE modem, buying choice and setup

The e3372 will need a separate powered usb hub to work on a RB951G-2HnD?

Any examples of a basic setup? (please!) :-D

USB LTE modem, buying choice and setup

Hi! I'm about to buy and setup a USB LTE/4G modem with a RB951G-2HnD. I'm thinking of buying a ZTE MF823 or Huawei E3372/E3372H-153/E8372. (I'm open to other suggestions of models easily available in Norway/Sweden.) In the wiki-list , the ZTE is listed as "some settings are ignored", and for the Hua...

Wireless-rep and non-Routerboards?

The repeater function in wireless-rep ( http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:In ... s#Repeater ) Should this repeater function work with WLAN's (AP's/wireless routers/master's) that's non-Mikrotik/RouterBoard? (Specifically a Thompson WLAN router) Also, since wireless-rep is the newest, should I now...

Re: TP-Link TL-WN722N and mikrotik does it work?

We are sorry but we removed usb wifi support in RouterOS v6 because of instability issue.

You can use wireless-rep and repeater function now http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:In ... s#Repeater
The repeater function should work with WLAN's/master's that's non-Mikrotik/RouterBoard?
