CRS125-24G-1S-IN as a router?

Hi,

I just bought a CRS125-24G-1S-IN and want it to act like a router and a switch.
I´m a newbie but familiar with the "normal" RB´s, but how do I configure the CRS125-24G-1S-IN to work as a router-switch with firewall nat etc?

How do I read the information about throughput? Is it only telling the lan-routing?
I´m interested in throughput wan - lan.

Re: Do Capsman adjust TX-power?

Capsman can set the TX power but does not automatically adjust the TX power. Typically we set TX power to 17-20 dBM for all AP's
Are there any plans for automatic tx-power in upcoming updates?

Do Capsman adjust TX-power?

Do Capsman adjust the TX-power if there are multiple surrounding wAP´s?
I heard that for example Aruba automatic adjust the TX-power.

Re: RB3011 enough for a small company?

It can handle 100Mbps (depending on rules), or it can handle much more depending on packet size. Scroll to the bottom here . How much Internet service are they paying for? I think they are paying for 100Mbps. But I wonder if this RB3011 is for small company use? I have one in my home and lots of th...

RB3011 enough for a small company?

I have this customer who need a new router and 6 ap´s via CapsMan. The company staff; about 30 persons.
Is the RB3011 enough or do they need a CloudCore Router?

Can´t install Dude server

I have this RB3011.

I have downloaded the Dude server to the RB´s File List and did reboot. But the Dude does not show up in Package List after reboot.
Maybe I´m missing something?

Wireless printer does not work

I have this RB3011 and (AC) wAP and running CapsMan. I can connect the Brother Printer Wireless, but sometime I can not print from my MacBook or iPhone. My wife can not even add the printer in settings (MacBook) I have enabled "Client to Client" in "Datapath" If I scan my network...

Re: wAP / Use the router DHCP?

Yes, I don't need the DHCP-server in the wAP. I need the RB3011 as DHCP router. I tried to turn off DHCP in Quick Set, and then the wAP does not work.
Shall I bridge the wAP in some certain way and the turn off DHCP?

wAP / Use the router DHCP?

Hi,

I have this wAP AC in "home ap dual" but I not need the routing or firewall. I just want my RB3011 to make DHCP and rout like AP WISP mode.

RBwAP2nD or RBwAPG-5HacT2HnD?

In this case the house/environment is alone, no neighbors... Do I have advantages if I choose the 5Hac AP´s or is the RBwAP2nD okay?
The incoming/outgoing speed is 100/100.

Re: Cloud Core vs Routerboard?

Additionally you should buy a good switch to get to the requested number of ethernet ports, when more than
available on the router, from another company (MikroTik don't make good switches).

Yes I´m going to buy a good POE switch for the cams etc... Are the Ubiquiti´s good choice?

Re: Cloud Core vs Routerboard?

If money is not a problem then buy most expensive one 72 core CCR :D

Hahaha! But is the CCR more "professional" than the RB series? This customer like "over kill products" :-) He wants the best.

Re: Cloud Core vs Routerboard?

Maybe the CCR1016-12G it´s a okay router? You seem to be willing to insist on CCR. :) In that case CCR1009 series should be more then enough for home use. Take a closer look at CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+PC model- PC stands for "passive cooling"; no fans- no noise. No, but is not CCR faster... more...

Re: Cloud Core vs Routerboard?

Okay,

He´s not going to use VPN´s and that type of features. It´s an ordinary, but big home with security-cams, automation-system and ordinary movie streams via Apple TV´s.
Maybe the CCR1016-12G it´s a okay router? What I (he) need it is a fast reliable router :-)

Cloud Core vs Routerboard?

Hi,

Whats the difference between CCR and the RB series? I have RB3011 in my home, a very nice product. I have a customer that need a very reliable router in their home, and I wonder
if the CCR are better, faster etc?

Re: Choose router?

I have RB3011UiAS-RM in my home, very nice router. But is it better to go "bigger" in this upcoming project, for example a Cloud Router? I (customer) need reliable performance
for his home network.

I have read and watched nice tutorials about CapsMan, but I don't know about to make this DHCP and NAT rule.
It´s a quite simple network I need. It´s running 192.168.1.1

CapsMan or not?

I have this upcoming project with 8 AP´s and wonder if it really need CapsMan - whats the benefits when only 8 AP´s?
I find it very tricky to set up, I´m a newbie to MikroTik... It feels more tricky than configure each of them :P

I use the built-in Cloud DDNS from Mikrotik, but is there some way to use a more friendly name? Is it possible to forward from Dyn.com?

RBwAPG-5HacT2HnD compared to Unify?

How´s RBwAPG-5HacT2HnD compared to Unifi AP AC LR? Is the Mikrotik more like a point to point product, or for ceiling-mount like Unifi?
I need a product like the Unifi AP´s, but from Mikrotik.

Re: Choose router?

If money is no object (must be nice), go big.  We have a ccr1009-8g-1s-1s+ that serves about 2000 customers, runs nearly 800 megs during peak time and the CPU does not work hard at all!  In fact, the other day we were the victim in a massive DOS attack and the router was running about 30% on the cp...

Re: Port forwarding - Dynamic WAN IP

I'm new in MikroTiks world and I have just bought a RB3011UiAS-RM. A fantastic product. I have port forwarded my NAS so I can reach it from outside, no problems.
