CRS series and reading the FDB by SNMP?

I'm trying to map a network with NetXMS and it's problematic with locations that have CRS series units. NetXMS is not able to read the Forwarding DataBase, it complains that the FDB is unavailable I'm working with existing switches and don't have a lab unit here, so I can't work out if it's a config...

Re: UDP to TCP for wireless interference?

As far as i'm aware there is no mechanism to 'convert' UDP to TCP or vice versa as they are fundamentally different protocols. For instance there's no sequence numbers in UDP. So let's assume you did the opposite and wanted to go TCP-UDP-TCP well how do you recreate the sequence numbers on the other...

Re: How do I downgrade CHR to specific version?

The question was how do I get the NPK files since there's no CHR package to download on the website
As it turns out, the answer is to use the x86 image, copied that over and clicked downgrade and it worked fine
Cheers

How do I downgrade CHR to specific version?

I'm testing out The Dude and I need to make the version number the same. Dude server / CHR is currently 6.38.3 and other routers are on 6.38.1, rather than upgrading routers I want to downgrade the CHR to that same version. How can I do it though? I can't see a package for the CHR to download and co...

Re: V7 ....

Is it not a mind thing????? What does it matter wat version number it had. If it is V6xxx or V7xxx? If it is working it is fine. So why is everybody asking for V7. If it can be fixed in V6 of V8 it will be great of is it wrong? It's not a mind thing, there's more to it than just the number itself F...

Re: Introduction to the dude?

I have my primary test dude server running as a VM that is directly connected to the network i'm primarily polling, it picks up only a few devices, there are WAY more devices on the network (and yes they can be pinged from the CHR router) This immediately is a huge red flag for me, since if I can't ...

Re: mAP lite

Has anyone tried to power this via USB port on a laptop? Such ports can only provide 500mw but this says 3500mw maximum
I'd like to have one of these in my laptop bag (ideally the normal mAP with its 2 ports to function as a USB powered switch/router)

Re: Introduction to the dude?

Nobody? It seems 'The Dude' is actually pretty popular and receives a lot of praise, but nobody knows how to use it? I can only find tidbits of information Clearly i'm also not doing something right with it, i'm running an auto scan on our core network, with the recursive scan option with reliable s...

Introduction to the dude?

The Dude is something i've been meaning to look at for a while. I have installed it and had a bit of a play, but I feel I should get some more focus rather than just randomly poking things and seeing what moves or bites back Currently using NetXMS as a monitoring solution, but it's a bit more involv...

Re: QoS over mesh network? How?

Can you explain further though? Because my understanding is you need to define some sort of maximum expected bandwidth to artificially cap the line speed. I've tried using queue trees, leaving the parent as unlimited and setting 2 queue's underneath it. I set the Control traffic queue to 1mbit max l...

policy based routing for i.e. dropbox?

Anyone know the best method to send particularly dropbox out a particular interface? Already have fail-over setup and working, I want everything to go by connection 1 by default, but dropbox and a few select services by connection 2. It's easy to do source/destination IP or port number, however I be...

QoS over mesh network? How?

I have a client that is using Mikrotik devices to create a roaming mesh - whereby the actual mikrotik mesh devices will continually roam around along with camera's As a result the throughput of the mesh varies quite a lot. There are 2 types of traffic going through the mesh. One is control traffic f...

What ISP software are people using?

We deploy wireless and wired links but use MikroTik routers everywhere. Looking for an idea on what other people use to do bandwidth accounting for users, set speed profiles, provide reports/billing etc. We're currently using Splynx but hitting snags along the way, and their helpdesk is fairly lackl...

I can't find a way to create sub-interfaces on a MikroTik device. Can't use PPTP and L2TP at same time?

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but i've noticed on our CCR1009 (6.36) that it isn't possible to have both PPTP and L2TP working at the same time I can turn both on and there appears to be no errors, but only 1 of them actually works - whichever was turned on first If I turn PPTP server on, then turn...

Where does WinBox store the list of remembered addresses though? If I can simply place that file in a shared location and point WinBox to it, thatll work Or if I cant choose the location I could use a symbolic link in a pinch. At least that way everyone accesses the same file (which hopefully doesn'...

Seems to be a bug in WinBox I'm not exactly sure what steps would replicate the issue, but I noticed WinBox did not reflect what was shown in the terminal. I would untick IPSec in Winbox but it would remain in effect. I noticed this after just trying to fall back to L2TP alone and it still didn't wo...
