VoIP over EoIP

I have several branch offices connected back to HQ using MikroTik Routers. They are all connected over the public internet back to HQ using Mikrotiks propriety EoIP tunnel. At HQ I host an Asterisk softswitch as a VoIP PBX and POTS gateway. At the remote locations (and at HQ) are VoIP/SIP Telephone ...

VPN routing

Can somebody give me a basic overview of how to set up a site to site VPN. OK VNP experience is a little lacking, I dial into my office on my PC using PPTP, Single PC, Single User, Simple to set up. OK now I need to bridge two LANS over a VPN - the important thing is that both the local and remote L...

Re: VLAN issues

MY Routers are connected via Trunks. Its all a bit odd because this all started last Sunday afternoon, when nobody was in the building - so no equipment was added or removed. Its been working for at least 4 years. Done all the basic stuff (cables, rebooted everything, etc). The odd thing is it ONLY ...

VLAN issues

I have a network based on 21 x Gbit Layer 2 Managed Switches, effectively in a star layout with one switch providing the links for the other 20 switches. All the switches are interconnected using VLAN Trunks. Each port on the network is individual set to provide access to one of 8 VLAN's. The primar...

Re: VRRP Help

Can somebody explain the VRID, I understand its the ID of a Virtual Router, but how do I use it. Should I have the same VRID on both primary and backup router? should the be diffrent? what about my situation where I have 7 VLAN's should each VRRP have a different VRID or should all 14 VRID's across ...

Re: VRRP Help

Thanks for this, I agree with you 100% on the /32 issue, the /24 was a bit confusing for me. However for some reason when I set the VRRP as a /32 my VLAN's suddenly can't communicate with each other (regardless of the backup router even being switched on). So this probably isn't actually a VRRP prob...

VRRP Help

Help What am I missing? I have several VLAN's lets call them VLAN2 thru VLAN8. Each VLAN has its own /24 subnet 10.1.2.0 thru 10.1.8.0. I have two Routers A & B. On router A I have set up 7 x Addresses as 10.1.n.2/24 Network 10.1.n.0 Interface VLAN-n (Gateways for each of the 7 LAN's) 7 x VRRP addre...

Help setting up new gateway

Hi, I have two WAN side connections, a 'fully managed service' where the service provider has provided a client side router presenting an entire /24 range of IP addresses (X.X.196.0), with the service provider managed router presenting itself as X.X.196.1. Pretty simple stuff to use on RouterBoard n...

A + B Redundency

I am wishing to add a second RouterBoard to my system as a redundant backup (not trying to load balance or anything fancy). I am happy with the LAN side of the network using VRRP and think I have that all worked out. (I have about 600 hosts on 8 separate VLAN's all set up with VRRP). The issue is th...

Re: Multiple DMZ servers

Ok I think I am starting to get an idea of what is going on. This router has access to a public /28 subnet, (XXX.XXX.196.96 to XXX.XXX.196.111) and the next gateway is on XXX.XXX.196.1 All the outbound traffic seems to present itself on XXX.XXX.196.96 - which is the 'Network' address of the /28. The...

Multiple DMZ servers

Bit of a RouterBoard newbie, just taken over management of this network, so didn't do original install. I have 5 specific hosts on my LAN (10.1.0.0) that are all NAT 1:1 routed to a range of 5 public IP addresses on a full class C (XXX.XXX.196.0) WAN. Four of them work perfectly, I can access them o...

Re: DHCP's all being allocated to 00:00:00:00:00:00

Nope Wireless - Its a VERY closed and secure network - there are about 100 hosts on it, all with Static IP's.  Just wanted to set up a pool of 10 DHCP addresses, that can be used by new equipment that defaults to DHCP, so we can then configure them to their Static IP's.  It was only when I set up th...

DHCP's all being allocated to 00:00:00:00:00:00

I have 3 x VLAN's with associated DHCP pools.   VLAN2 =  10.1.2.0  VLAN4 = 10.1.4.0  VLAN5 = 10.1.5.0.  For some reason my 10.1.2.X network seem to be allocating the entire DHCP range to an unknown device with mac address 00:00:00:00:00:00  t other two VLAN's are configure exactly the same, and no s...
