Re: Problem with Bridge over PPTP - MTU?

I used the most current version available at the time ... (non-Beta ...)

Re: Problem with Bridge over PPTP - MTU?

Routing was fine ... problem only occurred on larger packets that caused fragmentation ... anyway, I put way too much time into trying to fix the problem with PPTP, where all I needed was a working solution, OpenVPN solved that ...

Re: Problem with Bridge over PPTP - MTU?

As we couldn't solve the cause of the problem, we have since switched to OpenVPN as basis for the bridging ... not any more complicated (if not even easier to configure), and worked right away... no MTU problem/delays anymore with otherwise unchanged lines ...

Problem with Bridge over PPTP - MTU?

Hi, I've been having some problems trying to get a PPTP connection to work ... here's the basic setup: * central site has a fixed IP on a cable modem, I forward PPTP to the MikroTik behind it; MTU on that physical link is 1492 * remote site is on a dynamic IP also with NAT; MTU in the test is 1500, ...

Re: EoIP between 2 RBs w/ dynamic IP on one side

One final follow-up: Just used the sample from http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:BC ... _bridging), removing the EoIP from the config and using just PPTP with bridging ... also works, less config steps, less complexity ... guess we can just stick with that ... :)

Re: EoIP between 2 RBs w/ dynamic IP on one side

Hm ... is the PPTP client not available on the RB2011 router? Edit: My mistake, I had PPP disabled on the 2011, after re-enabling it, PPTP is now available again ... Update: Yup, worked like a charm ... pretty easy once you know what needs to be done ... will look into using BCP inside of PPTP inste...

Re: EoIP between 2 RBs w/ dynamic IP on one side

Seeing that the remote ends will not be using "decent" routers with which I could forward everything from the outside to a certain IP on the inside, I reckon the PPTP setup would be the most viable way to implement this ... so just pick a network for the PPTP network, then use those for th...

EoIP behind NAT routers

Hi, I'm new to MikroTik devices, so please excuse me if the question is stupid ;) I have a customer setup where we need an L2 link between multiple remote sites and a central site. I got the recommendation to look at MikroTik routers and their EoIP which other people were already using successfully....

EoIP between 2 RBs w/ dynamic IP on one side (solved)

Hi, I'm new to MikroTik routers, so please excuse my possible ignorance ... We have a customer setup we are trying to get to work, which after going through several examples doesn't match any, and before I try to dig in even further in the wrong directions, I thought it might be a good idea to ask s...
