Re: RouterOS v7.0beta1 (ARM)

Why are people asking for ext4 on mikrotik devices when they should be asking for f2fs?
As a home user, I wish v7 had support for exFAT. Microsoft has made technical specification for exFAT publicly available last month (proof link).

Re: v6.45.6 [stable] is released!

Downgrade to 6.43.7 went fine. Now you can try to upgrade to 6.45.6. Since 6.43.7 takes less space compare to your previous version was larger, 6.45.6 may now fit. That worked well, thanks. So the upgrade path for this hAP lite was: 6.43.7 -> 6.45.5 - OK 6.45.5 -> 6.45.6 - Failed 6.45.5 -> 6.43.7 -...

Re: v6.45.6 [stable] is released!

Dear MikroTik team, Please try to make 6.45.x bundles smaller for smips devices (hAP lite, hAP mini) without sacrificing the functionality. Upgrade from 6.45.5 to 6.45.6 failed on one of my hAP lite due to insufficient free space (20 KiB free out of 16 MiB). And yes, I had no other files, just the ....

Re: v6.45.2 [stable] is released!

not enough storage to update. You should hold off and wait for 6.46. MT is aware of the problem and seems to work on solution for the small space devices. From 6.46Beta16 *) smips - reduced RouterOS main package size (disabled LTE modem, dot1x and SwOS support); Does it mean that my LTE modem will ...

Re: v6.44.5 [long-term] is released!

The Dude on hEX (6.44.3) shows weird Expires After time in DHCP Leases for hAP ac at the latest long-term build (6.44.5). The lease time for DHCP server at hAP ac is set to 1 day.

Re: v6.45.1 [stable] is released!

As per my observation 6.45.1 is more resource hungry than the long-term 6.44.5 on hAP ac2. The router has a default configuration and not connected to WAN link. I would say that 5-10% of CPU utilization for a device in idle state is quite high. When running at 6.44.5, the CPU utilization is 1-4%. An...

Re: v6.43.11 [stable] is released!

After upgrading hEX and hAP ac from 6.43.8 to 6.43.11 (ROS and FW) samba got broken. I got the following message in Windows 10: \\router.lan\backup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource... The parameter is incorrect. I restored access to samba shares by downgr...

Re: v6.42.7 [current] is released!

This version fixed the weird problem with Xiaomi Redmi 3S phones that could not get IPs from DHCP server running on hEX.

Thank you, MikroTik team!

Previously, it was shown in WinBox, now only in the console: In my case sector write counters reappeared in Resources window after I reopened it in Winbox. Device: hEX Winbox: 3.16 ROS & FW:...

RB850Gx2. After upgrade ROS to 6.42 does not show Tx rate when used Torch. https://i.imgur.com/KpSYfR8.png I face the same issue on hAP ac (RB962). In my case Tx Rate is always zero for ethernet interfaces added to the bridge with hardware offloading enabled. Disabling hardware offloading for the b...

Re: v6.41.2 [current]

I found a couple of strange entries in the routing table after the upgrade on my hAP ac. What exactly is considered strange there? The new routes to 0.0.0.0/ 32 in the list which were not there before. According to the RFC 3330 it is kind of special address, and I cannot understand if it was added ...

Re: v6.41.2 [current]

I found a couple of strange entries in the routing table after the upgrade on my hAP ac. The upgrade path was the following: 6.40.5 > 6.41 > 6.41.1 > 6.41.2. Not sure when it happened exactly.

Re: v6.41 [current]

The RB751U interestingly shows a blank where you would expect to see the new F/W (6.41). Is this a limtitation of the older hardware or a bug I wonder ?

It was reported earlier in this topic and already fixed in 6.42rc.

The naming style of the new interface lists for MAC Server is kind of weird. I would rather rename "mactel" to "mac-telnet".

Re: v6.41 [current]

Hi there, Upgraded hAP ac at home from 6.40.5 to 6.41 with one minor issue - all interfaces in the "discover" list became enabled, however some of them were disabled before. To avoid potential problems with conversion of Master Port configuration, I have added all slave ports to the bridge manually ...

All devices had RouterBOARD firmware 3.41 before the upgrade.

So far so good...
