Re: WiFi Clients to MT AP - directly or via hAP ac

You mean hAP AC2?

That could allow for better airtime usage, in theory.
No, actually I've got a bunch of "old" hAP ac devices lying around and was curious if they'd do any good in the mentioned scenario. May I assume you don't think so?

WiFi Clients to MT AP - directly or via hAP ac

Hi, just a short design question: I've got 3 wireless devices (a Smart TV and 2 Media Players) that are currently wirelessly connected to a cAP ac. As the WiFi hardware of these devices is not really great I was thinking about adding a hAP ac in, connecting all devices via ethernet and lettting the ...

Re: MikroTik smartphone app (ex Tik-App)

IOS App v1.0.23 The app does not show the current configuration on wider parts of the CAPsMAN menus. Example Datapath menu: I configured two datapathes, and both are shown here, but the configuration inside is blank from the perspective of the app (no VLAN ID, no CtoC Forwarding etc.). Same settings...

Access to MikroTik LtAP console via LTE

Hi, I am looking for a way to access a MikroTik LtAP that's connected to the internet via an LTE connection. The use case looks like this: the LtAP is connected to a Network device's console port (Switch, Router ...) via its serial0 interface and to the internet via LTE. So in essence I want to be a...

IGMP Snooping and HW offloading with CRS1xx / CRS2xx

Hi, I use a MikroTik CRS112-8P-4S-IN switch at a site where multicast traffic is used to send videos to clients on the LAN. Besides VLAN1 for regular users there is VLAN20 for guest Wi-Fi configured. The goal is to have IGMP Snooping along with HW offloading. Reading the WIKI pages concerning the co...

Hi,

I'd like to replace the damaged case of a bunch of hap AC access points. Is it possible to swap the cases and where can I buy them?

Re: v6.44 [stable] is released!

Updated all MT devices to 6.44. Now in Winbox Neighbors view the devices are no longer represented by their Bridges Admin MAC Address but by the MAC Address of the respective ethernet interface. This is not what I wanted, so the question is: is it a bug? Can I get the "old" setting somehow?

Re: v6.43.8 [stable] is released!

I get that. But the webfig torch NEVER shows more than the two lines to be seen in the screenshot, no matter what traffic is to be seen via winbox. Just tried it myself. Right after opening the Torch screen I can see the same two lines as shown on your screenshots, but after clicking on the "Start"...

I guess this likely is the point. Torch is a "right now" tool, not a "historical data" tool.

Strange. Isn't a torch via winbox and via webfig supposed to deliver the same results? Because I just noticed that it does not. Torch via webfig just shows two lines (see screenshot Torch2). Device is hEX S, ROS is 6.43.8, same interface, roughly the same time.

Re: v6.43.8 [stable] is released!

In short, if you live in the EU and want to conform with the rules, you MUST use regulatory-domain and country name. It will enable DFS radar check and correct power output depending on chosen frequency. If you have some special permission (!) to use other settings, select "no country set" and use ...

Still facing the error, and I am totally sure that there is no loop in my network. RouterOS version is 6.43.1. Maybe the MT devs take another look at this problem. On CRS3xx devices I learned from a MikroTik YT video, I have to configure VLANs on the bridge. But on CRS 1xx/2xx devices it is done on the Switch? Not on the Bridge? https://w...

Re: Hardware recommendation for SOHO environment

Thanks for your advice. I thought of adding a switch to the mix to power supply the APs, the RB260GSP. So the setup would be Internet <-> Cable Modem <-> hex PoE <-> RB260GSP <-> 3x hAP ac lite Subtracting the uplink port on router and switch this gives him 8 ports (combined router + switch). Cablin...

Both devices shall work as dual band APs with a re...
