Max number of Regestration

Hi

I have a question

What is the maximum number of registrations can an AP handles in a noisy environment using 802.11 protocol and 20MHz channel width, as each client max rate is 4Mbps ?

Re: adding to access List Issue

Hi.

It is totally normal. When you have done changes in wireless interface it will refresh settings and wireless client will disconnect.

In access-list is more necessary because you need to check conditions of clients who would like to connect.
Thanks for your help

Same SSID different frequencies

Hi

I need to know how the station CPE decides which AP to connect to if there are more than one AP in its range, with the same SSID and with different frequencies ?
does it choose the best signal strength or there are another parameters that decide that ?

Thank U

Access List Issue

Hi In a scenario with two access points with MAC Access List authentication. When adding MAC address to Access List of both Access points, then disable it from one of them. Sometimes CPE keeps trying to connect to it with reject, and message keeps repeating (Not in local ACL, by default reject), Why...

Re: please help me.

I will try to help you but first you need to draw your design and assign IPs and gateway for each network to make it clear

Please draw it and I will try to help you in configurations

Re: Interference Problem

Here is what I am always facing

If I go to 5.9GHZ or 6GHz the Gain will drop and the signal level of registrations will go down and noise floor go to -100 or even -95 sometimes.

Distance shows 53 Km

Hi

I have an 5GHz AP (RB911G-5HPnD) with 30 connections in registration table, I noticed that some connections distance shows 53 Km.

Does this have to do anything with reflections and multipath ??

check the attached screenshot

Thank you

Hi

Does connecting other 802.11 vendors antennas rather than mikrotik to a MikroTik Access point working on 802.11 standard effect its performance ??

Re: How to connect to an AP even if it is not the best one

Hi

I believe that you can force your computer to connect to a particular AP, by simply adding your computers' MAC Address in the connect list of this Access Point.
Try it and let me know the results.
Hope I helped you on this

Good Signal level and Bad Signal level

Hi

I have an AP with RB911G-5HPnD with 25 connected CPE (all SXT Lite 5 and one Dynadish 5)
Signal levels of connected CPE varies between -46/-49 (Best Signal level) to -72/-76 (Worst Case)

I need to know does this variation of signal level effect the AP wireless cards ?

Thank you

Re: Max number of Regestration

There is no limit. Yes, you can connect 60.
Thank you : )

Can this large number of registrations effects the Access Point Performance ? Or does it reduce the amount of traffic that each connected CPE can get ?

Re: Gain Vs Frequency

For a fixed aperture, the gain is proportional to the frequency squared. However, you are probably referring to the characteristic of one particular antenna, rather than such a generic statement. In that case you need to refer to the diagrams in that antenna's specification. It may be that part of ...

Are there any graph that shows the relation between the Gain and the operated frequency ?

Because I noticed that changing frequency can also effects the Signal level.

Re: Issue with RB-911G-5PHnD

Seems you're having interference problems, so the first to be ironed out is wireless. Start by issuing a spectral scan to see which channels are optimal at the AP, open a New Terminal on it and issue: /interface wireless spectral-history range=5Ghz wlan1 Leave it running for some minutes and post a...
