Facebook Login on Captive Portal

Hello, We offer facebook login through the mikrotik captive portal for public hotspots, so a user can quickly sign-up and receive free public wifi. We have had sporadic reports from a number of users where their account is being "temporarily locked" and they have to provide identification / identify...

Mikrotik proxy alongside hotspot functionality

Hi, we have recently add a NAT rule that takes all HTTP port 80 traffic and sends it through a specific IP / Port. This all works fine if the user has already authenticated and therefore past the hotspot however if they havent i get the error "xxx refused to connect" I understand this rule conflicts...

Forwarding all TCP traffic (HTTP) to a specific ip address and port

Hi, I have been trying to get a mikrotik 951 to successfully forward all non-https TCP traffic to a specifc ip address and port but have had no success. I have looked into NAT firewall rules and Web proxies but i cannot get this working. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Kind regards, Mal

Re: DNS resolution - intermittent issue - possible solution

Has this issue ever been resolved?

Weve seen issues on pretty much every version from 6.29 onwards (havent really tested before).

I can find lots of topics regarding intermittent DNS failures but no concrete answer.

Multiple Mikrotiks - How to make only one mikrotik handle all traffic

Hi, We put multiple 951s into venues currently with captive portal technology, unfortuntely the way our system has been developed, each AP acts completely independenty and roaming between access points brings up another captive portal authnentication, which is expected behaviour. We want to do this ...

Running out of disk space

Hi there, I was wondering, we utilise 951s to provide captive portal (w/ internet) to businesses, we have just enabled "graphing" and i have a question going forward. Our 951s have 128MiB of storage inside them, we have graphing setup to "every 5 minutes" with "store on disk" - i was wondering what ...

Re: Looking for Mikrotik Specialist for paid work

HI Steve, Thanks for your response. Their is a few things we would like to be looked at / fixed and as the work is quite detailed and would require divulging access details etc i would prefer to do it in a more private setting. Establishing a remote connection to Mikrotiks

Hi, I am having an issue remotely accessing our Mikrotik boxes due to an hardware failure of a 750GL in our office that was handling all 10.200.x traffic (we assign this range to the mikrotiks) redirecting the requests to our centralised RouterOS server that holds active VPN connections to all other...

Re: Serial number significance

Thanks guys, some really valuable responses there. When my box dies after the mis-configuration is there anyway to access any sort of log to get a hint of what is wrong? Hi guys, long time lurker, first time poster!
