Feature request: IPv6 dstnat support (for transparent proxy)

Setting up a transparent proxy around works perfectly on IPv4 setups. For IPv6 I need support for dstnat. As the current v7 beta is based on a 5.x kernel this should be possible now.

Re: Wireless repeater DHCP problem

I gave it a try using a mikrotik AP. There it works without any problems at all. If I use the TP-Link AP I end up with problems again. The Groove connects to the original wifi without any problems. The clients connecting to the groove have severe connection problems. After connecting they try to get...

Re: Connection problems over fiber optic connection CRS326 - hEX PoE

These are classic dirty cable/sfp or bad cable/sfp problems. 1. Clean both ends of the cable. I use the "pen clicker" type for LC connections, you might not have that. Possibly use alcohol and a clean cotton swab, or short of that wipe it LIGHTLY across a very clean cloth (not something y...

Re: Connection problems over fiber optic connection CRS326 - hEX PoE

I've just upgraded firmware in the CRS326. The hex is factory default. My versions are: CRS326: 3.40 (factory default was 3.37) hex: 3.34 (which is factory default) For testing I can replace the hex with an RBS260GS running SwOS which I received today. This is the only device I have available right ...

Re: Connection problems over fiber optic connection CRS326 - hEX PoE

Which ROS version and firmware versions are both running? (specially the Hex PoE)? I'd make sure both are using 6.40, and Current Firmware is the same version as Upgrade firmware at System > Routerboard They are both running RouterOS 6.40. Version information is also included in config export in my...

Re: Connection problems over fiber optic connection CRS326 - hEX PoE

I've activated the watchdog to reboot the system after a downtime of 30 minutes. This was running over the weekend. After each reboot the connection is coming up again without problems but the actual connection loss problem persists.

Wifi over 100m outdoor

Hi, for a new project we need a wifi connection over a range of at least 100 m. I've no experience with wifi in this range. On one location we have a system that produces some data which has to be sent over wifi to a laptop/smartphone/etc. Both of the systems are mobile and used only outdoors. My id...

Re: L2TP/IPSEC firewall rules for vpn clients

Hello everybody, I've found a partial solution to my problem. Using a separate firewall chain and incoming/outgoing filter in my ppp profile I can filter vpn traffic according to my needs. This will only work for ipv4 right now. Is there any way to make this work for ipv6? I've found an almost ident...

L2TP/IPSEC firewall rules for vpn clients (ipv6)

Hello, I'd like to have some firewall rules for my VPN clients. My default policy will drop everything not allowed. Right now I'm allowing forwarding from the VPN-Pool from any interface. This means someone in my guest LAN could sent packets from an IP in the VPN range and it would get forwarded to ...

Re: L2TP/IPSEC Windows works/Android doesn't

I found a workaround for connecting with android 6 and 7 to a mikrotik l2tp vpn: In your ipsec proposal disable SHA256. Everything works fine now using android 6/7 and windows 10 as clients.

The actual bug in android is still open today. For details have a look at the link in my first posting.

L2TP/IPSEC Windows works/Android doesn't

Hello, I'm just setting up an L2TP/IPSEC Server an RB2011. Firmware version is 6.36.3. Connecting from windows 10 works without any problems. Doing the same from android 6 it doesn't work at all. Re: Home network advice RB3011 and hAP ac lite

I know about the RB2011 and was already waiting for the RB3011 with wifi. I'm a bit skeptical because the RB2011 is on the market for such a long time. I'm not sure how future proof it might be in terms of software updates. Some of the major shops for mikrotik devices in my country don't even offer ...

Re: Home network advice RB3011 and hAP ac lite

Thank you for the remark. - a few PC's - two smartphones (doing extensive streaming from time to time) - a VOIP phone - two NAS systems PC to NAS should of course be full gigabit. For the wifi I wan't to get the best I can that is also be future prove. For now I'm stuck with G type wifi on my old ac...

Home network advice RB3011 and hAP ac lite

Hello, I'd like to upgrade my home network to mikrotik devices. Currently I consider an RB3011 to replace my router and switch and a hAP ac lite for wireless access. I only have about 80 square meter to cover with the wifi. I also need about 8 ethernet ports. The whole setup should be future prove a...
