I mean this part, it invoke a "capsman" script
# Test if CAPsMANN is installed, if yes, run capsmann script.

:if ( ([:len [/interface find where type="cap"]] > 0) and $CAPsMANN) do={ /system script run capsman }

Hotspot HTTPS/Mac Cookie login problem

Hi everyone, I need your help to solve a strange problem with my hotspot login. Since I configured a valid certificate and activate HTTPS login, clients need to authenticate every "keepalive timeout" expires even if I set authentications via HTTP-CHAP,HTTPS,Cookie,Mac cookie. The only chan...

Hotspot with Capsman and multiple cAPs

Hi everyone, I'm trying to implement a new hotspot system instead of a traditional password secured network, my network consist of one RB3011 and 8APs, one per each apartment I rent plus common areas. I would setup a basic hotspot system, every cAPs would have 2 SSID, my LAN network and Guest Networ...

Same problem here, 2y without any problem, after last power failure poe is not longer working on my RB3011 and SXT5 Lite AC.
Tried SXT with external POE Injector and it works. Is there any solution?

Re: Tool: Using Splunk to analyse MikroTik logs 3.1 (Graphing everything)

Yes I'm using the official splunk image with internal syslog stored on local volume (I'm using Docker on my Synology NAS). Here is my config: docker run -d --net host -v /volume3/docker/Splunk/etc:/opt/splunk/etc -v /volume3/docker/Splunk/var:/opt/splunk/var -v /etc/localtime:/etc/localtime:ro -e &q...

Re: Tool: Using Splunk to analyse MikroTik logs 3.1 (Graphing everything)

Hello Jotne, Have you ever considered using a dockerized Splunk Environment? I lately tested this but did not get any mikrotik information in Splunk. My "normal" Splunk envirnoment is working. I'm actually have my splunk environment on docker working perfectly. Inviato dal mio SM-G950F ut...

Re: DNS Failover

Thanks for your reply, I just tried without success and I suppose here is the correct answer: viewtopic.php?t=143849#p708150

So basically I will keep the pihole dns as primary mikrotik DNS and change it with public servers in case of fails.

Re: DNS Failover

I couldn't get netwatch to trigger properly with all of its permissions restrictions. For my home use case, running a little script once a minute from the scheduler seems to work well. I have my DHCP Server > Networks > DNS Servers pointed to my MikroTik router gateway address so clients do not nee...

Re: CAPSMAN + datapath.bridge-horizon ?

Does it worked for you?
I tried your solution using the same bridge horizons value on different CAPs but clients just connect once at a time. If I have a client connected on AP1 another client on AP2 is unable to connect.

Did you had the same problem?

Strange. Are you 100% your server is listening on Syslog UDP/514? Here is how to test. Search for this with REAL-TIME - 1 minute window "hello" Then on a linux server run this command. (Change IP (local host 127.0.0.1) to your server if you do test this on an other server : echo "<14...

What does then stop? (looks correct) You should from the scrip (if you have installed it) get data every 5 minutes. So search for star and search for 30 min window, you should see data coming in all the time. Yes the script is installed, I had the 30 min windows search and no data are showed even w...

See if your prefix is correct at section 2b. On wrong characters and it break all. You can also do a search with only a start * and set it to last 24 hour and see what data you get. Yes it's correct, if I do that search last packet is 2 ours ago now while the counter is increasing Immagine.jpg

Re: RB 3011 Gb/s Throughput problem with bandwidth test

problem is that the bandwidth test generator is single threaded at this time and can't create enough throughput. It is the recommendation of MT to not test on the infra itself but THROUGH the component, so no _additional_ load. And you confirmed this as ac2->3011->ac2 can sustain 1gb. Thanks a lot ...

Hey there, I'm writing to ask about some tips to prioritize the traffic on my network. I checked a lot over internet and finally I configured my mangle rules and queue trees. Or check what voltage is on each pin of Eth1 port. Use "octopus" made from a spare connection cable or better the one which you do not need, cut it to have RJ45 connector and a few cm of cable left, unstrip each line and check it for over voltage or short circuts. Thanks for your suggesti...

Re: RB951Ui-2HnD - Ether1 burns my devices

Mmmm... that could indicate a damaged port, if ether1 isn't the master for any other port. Have you tried another port in the mean time? Ether1 is the wan port itself, the ether2 is the master for the 3 and 4. If i try to connect the ISP modem to ether2 configured with dhcp client it get the addres...

Re: RB951Ui-2HnD - Ether1 burns my devices

How are you powering it? Do you have a multimeter? if so, measure AC/DC from RB951 ethernet metallic frame to ground, could be a defective power unit/strip causing an electric shunt, there's nothing on the 951 per se that could damage another unit, less on its ether1 (PoE-in) port, unless its inter...
