Re: RouterOS v7.0beta1 (ARM)

So instead of a kernel from 2012 we are now going to have a kernel from 2017. Lets hope they can update this to the 4.19 version soon. Why stop at 4.19 ... MT should go for 5.3 ... ROS 7.0 is beta, and linux kernel 5.3 is RC. With current pace, linux kernel will be at least at 5.8 long term before ...

Re: RB4011 Metal temperature is really hot

Temperatures for devices like this, using a higher power arm processor, are known to be hot, they are designed for this. Lets compare it for instance with a raspberry pi 4 board, that can run as hot as 80 degrees celcius and that still is no problem at all. One of the engeneers of the board even sai...

Re: Cheapest router for home use with 1Gb

The question didn't state any specific requirements so I did recommend the RB4011 because that will be able to do all the things he might later say he needs.
So yes the RB4011 is not a cheap version by all accounts but is a cheap version that is able to do allmost everyting on a 1GB connection.

Sounds like more effort goes into ROS V7 for the moment I sent a ticket to Mtik support about some issues I had with Dude client. Here is the most important section in their reply. Sorry to break the news to some of you, but the official stance has always been - use v6. We are working on v7, and it will be released when it will be ready. Correct, that indeed is the thing you keep telling us. The problem we have is that for many years now you refer to this V7 and there even is...

Re: RouterOS v7.0 beta1 - when?

We have not advertised v7 as a version. The first post in this forum thread is by a user. MikroTik only mentions v7 if there is some feature, that can't be implemented because of kernel limitations. In that case, it's technically not possible to make something until we have new kernel. Other than t...

You are right, that MikroTik made wireless driver doesn't have Wave2 support, so new chipset benefits are not there. We are working on a new driver.
Will the new driver appear in version 6.X or do we need to wait for the legendary version 7?

Same problem here, I updated from rc51 to rc64 and now the mikrotik does not seems to forward ipv6 packets anymore.
Strange, all works fine here after upgrading to rc64

6.42rc20 falls within the range of faulty firmwares ( 6.42rc17 - 6.42rc24 )
No, only if older version was 6.42rc17 - 6.42rc24

Yes, please add this! Currently ND and DHCPv6 advertise only the IPv6 DNS servers set in "/ip dns" which are the upstream DNS servers. Therefore it is not possible to use the internal RouterOS DNS server as IPv6 DNS server. Please make the DNS server configurable in the same way, as it's already don...
