Re: Multiple bridge interfaces with different MTU causes out of memory problem

My personal setup: /interface ethernet #For RFC4638 upstream L3=1520# set [ find default-name=ether1 ] l2mtu=9214 mtu=1520 #For RFC4638 upstream L3=1520# set [ find default-name=ether2 ] l2mtu=9214 mtu=1520 set [ find default-name=ether3 ] l2mtu=9214 set [ find default-name=ether4 ] l2mtu=9214 set ...

Re: Multiple bridge interfaces with different MTU causes out of memory problem

Use of jumbo frames between end devices is largely overrated these days with fast switches and capable NICs and you should have a very good reason for insisting on using them. Do some (real life!) benchmarks to assess the difference between using standard 1500-byte MTU and jumbo frames to see if di...

Multiple bridge interfaces with different MTU causes out of memory problem

I have a HAP AC2 router, in which the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless interfaces can only be set to at most 1600 for L2MTU, while the ether1 to ether5 can set the L2MTU up to 9214. In order to conserve the maximum L2MTU for all wired port as I want to enable jumbo frame, I configured two bridges: bridge &q...

Time displayed in Webfig is ambiguous

Hello all, In Wefig, I noticed that the time shown at the "Link Up" and "Link Down" field in the "Interface" page are adapted to the timezone of web client, however, the time shown in the log is not adjusted and stick to the timezone of the device. Which created a confu...

Re: Critical issue on STP flapping

Finally I fell back all routers to the Long Term version 6.44.6 without changing any configuration and the problem disappeared, i.e. no more flapping for the mac-address in the bridge port periodically. I have no time to troubleshoot the router again as I came across another problem in upgrading to ...

Re: Critical issue on STP flapping

Could you have a look if you are being affected by the unpublished changes regarding CDP transmitting on STP blocked ports which may be poisoning MAC tables? You can read my report starting this here: https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=147904&p=736204#p736204 You gave an critic...

Re: Critical issue on STP flapping

I checked the admin-mac on the "local bridge" for all three routers are different with each other.
I use EOIP because I can simply form a single layer 2 network among two sites by adding the EOIP tunnel endpoint as bridge port in "local bridge" on the corresponding routers.

Critical issue on STP flapping

I have the following setup: Two sites: Site A: One hAP ac² (namely A1) Site B: Two hEX (namely B1 and B2) There are two EOIP tunnels between two sites, A1 <> B1 and A1 <> B2, IPSEC encryption is enabled. There is a layer 2 switch (dump with VLAN feature only, no STP feature) connecting B1 and B2 Fir...

Re: VRRP interface on bridge

Until now, I still got this issue as I can see all the bridge members are flooded with traffic with destination MAC-Address of 00:00:5E:00:01:01, which is the mac-address of a VRRP ID1 on that bridge. I am now solving it by adding that VRRP mac-address and bind it to one of the physical interfaces m...

Re: v6.45.7 [stable] is released!

On 6.45.7: Most probably a bug in new version. What architecture? I've just tested that on my arm (hAP ac²) and there is no issue: [me@MyTik] > system script print where name~"test" Flags: I - invalid 0 name="test" owner="me" policy= read, write, test dont-require-permis...

Re: v6.45.7 [stable] is released!

On 6.43.11: I have a script containing the following command: :resolve $hostname server=$NS I set "read, write, test" permission on this script, run without error On 6.45.7: When the same script run into the command :resolve $hostname server=$NS" it caused the "not enough permiss...

Re: Feature requests

I believe this request can be implemented very fast but it helps the ROS management with Multiple WAN a lot! The "/ping" and "/system ssh" allow user to specify the "src-address" parameter so that the command can initiate the network connection on specific WAN e...

Re: v6.38.5 [current]

I just found two problems in the Webfig interface: (1) All date information in the time related field is wrong dramatically, e.g. the up time of an interface may show Last Link Down Time Aug/24/2019 15:48:17 Last Link Up Time Aug/24/2019 15:57:16 while the current time is: Time 10:06:17 Date Apr/18/...

Re: Problem in Bridging with Bonding of EOIP tunnel

Alright, I answer it myself! As inspired by the DHCP problem as mentioned in this post https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=116963 I suspected the same problem happened in this scenario. BINGO! same STP problem also applied here and I resolve it by adding the admin-mac attribute ...

Problem in Bridging with Bonding of EOIP tunnel

Very simple setup, two CHR 6.38.5 in Virtualbox environment named Guest1 and Guest2, both with 3 interfaces: ether1 - simulating ISP1 ether2 - simulating ISP2 ether3 - simulating LAN all interfaces are connecting to internal networks only (no interface with host network) Network Connections: Guest1 ...
