Re: CCR1036 Power Supply

MikroTik needs to provide better power supplies and stop using that cheap capacitors.
MikroTik needs to do better electronic design actually. The capacitor quality seems good. The same exact capacitor right next to C10 is of the same quality and works very well for many years now.

Re: CCR1036 Power Supply

You are right that heat causes this issue. We have already upgraded the parts in newer revisions of this model, this is the first CCR design after all. New CCR models have other designs and do not suffer from heat anymore. We do plan to release a replacement 1036 in near future, where the PSU desig...

Strange, it does not seem to work from 6.45.2 to 6.45.3. Actually it does not even detect there is a 6.45.3 version available. It comes with a "System is already up to date" message.

How critical is grounding with LHG 60G

I am using a couple of LHG 60G model RBLHGG-60ad. Next to the UTP there is a grounding connector. How critical is to use this? Should it be grounded directly to the master/tower? Is this grounding pin connected with the grounding UTP also? Is there any grounding loop danger?

Re: RouterOS 5.2 to Current [SOLVED]

Yes, it bricks. I had the same exact issues in many Mikrotik platforms. Most people have recommended netinstall but it is not very practical in many installations. The only remotely way I found, was to first upgrade from 5.26 to bugfix and then to current. It worked for all my installations. I had a...

Personally I leave ssh open but that's the only thing and I really hope that doesn't get hacked... Even that could get hacked. It is exposed to annoying dictionary attacks all the time. Now days, best practice is to simply work through carefully secured and encrypted VPNs and nothing else open to t...

Try to disable fasttrack in firewall, if you have it on. I have had a few problems with it in a few installations.

I wonder if the same limitations and/or problems apply to LHGG-60ad. Anyone installed them? We are expecting a pair of those and I was wondering what would be the best stable ROS for it. It will be a production link so stability is a must.

I am having a dhcp problem also with VLANs. One of the voip devices gets an IP from a different dhcp-server VLAN every time I reset the switch. If I reset the device after then dhcp assigns proper IP. I will be sending a supout to support about this.

Ever wondered why there is no passively cooled 10G switches?
It is only a matter of time. As things get smaller power consumption will eventually decrease and passive cooling will be possible.

Re: Best SOHO router with passive cooling [SOLVED]

The RB450Gx4 would be nice also for home usage but for a bigger office I don’t think it can handle it. For example, if I want to add the full IPv4 BGP table as well as IPv4 country blocking then I am not sure that even the latest model of RB1100 would be capable of handling it. Is that a job for a C...

Yes, I think RB1100AHx4 would be perfect, thank you. I thought RB1100 was not passive cooling though. I had older models and they were not for sure. I agree, CCR1009 is an overkill for what I want.

I am getting the same error here after upgrading a couple of old v5.26 installations to v6.42.1. Some of them do not have it but others do.

Netinstall is not a good solution, it is a disaster if you have quite a few remote installations.
