Re: OSPF "drop-outs" (routes originated from MT gets dropped from the rest of the network)

I think ospf is so buggy in mikrotik. When you are doing pretty simple things it works. But I think is not fully implemented I have an open ticket with support, because I noticed that ABRs leaks all routes from backbone to stub/nssa areas if there is a reboot/instance restart involved. Essentially s...

Re: v7.4rc is released!

Hi I have a problem with OSPF stub areas, if I reboot the ABR router, the router in the stub area gets all kinds of LSAs. The only workaround is to change the default cost to a random number apply the config, and then revert back to its original value and all works as it should. Link to post in the ...

ABR "leaks" LSAs to stub routers after reboot

I tried upgrading from v 6.46.9 to 7.3.1 to 7.4.rc2 and in all ROS versions the same situation happens, if you have an ABR router that gets rebooted, all the LSAs and prefixes from backbone are propagated to stub area routers. The only workaround I have found is to manually apply a change in the ABR...

Top Level Router on Ospf Domain not able to get redistributed routes from NSSA Area [SOLVED]

My network kind of diagram: ISP | R1 | BACKBONE R2 | NSSA AREA R3 I used the NSSA on R3 facing zone because I have static routes on it I would like to be published/redistributed to backbone. But after successfully bringing up my OSPF config. The static routes redistributed/advertised from R3 are onl...

Re: Is it possible to host 2 web servers within the same public IP address

yes you can you can add dst-nat rule in the rule you can assign different port at wan but same port at the server like dst-nat rule port 1000 to dst-nat 10.10.10.2:80 like dst-nat rule port 1001 to dst-nat 10.10.10.3:80 but wan port is not the same I need to use the 443/80 ports only. Is it possible to host 2 web servers within the same public IP address

If I have this kind of network: ISP -> WAN (CCR1009) -> Switch -> Server1 and Server2 IPs: wan: x.x.10.5/32 Lan: 10.10.10.1/24 server1: 10.10.10.2/24 server2: 10.10.10.3/24 As I only count with one public IP address I want to know if it’s possible to dst-nat port 443/80 to server1 if firstdomain.com...

Re: Multiple Uplink provider on different sites [SOLVED]

I still don't see the problem. Even if you currently don't use ISP2, you have one interface connected to R1 and second interface connected to ISP2, right? If so, it's exactly what you need for dual-WAN setup. How it differs from one router scenario which you say you know how to set up? I mean, imag...

Re: Multiple Uplink provider on different sites [SOLVED]

If you know how to do it on single router, what's the difference here? Your main WAN is connected to ISP and other WAN is the interface with 172.31.94.x, just do what you'd normally do with one router. Difference is that I don't know what to do on R2, as said before right now I have a default route...

Multiple Uplink provider on different sites [SOLVED]

Im struggling on finding a functional setup for automatic failover/load-balance between ISPs or 'mangling' some devices to take one ISP. Because the ISPs are on different Routers at different sites. I know how to it on a single router but couldn't find the right method to do it on multiple routers. ...

I need to change the public IP address of one single machine on my LAN (192.168.88.5) to access the bankofamerica.com website, within another IP Public address (x.x.x.58) that I have available on my WAN. Can I queue if router is one hop distant from client IP

My edge router is one hop far from my client, that I want to apply simple or queues trees. Topology is like this: Client1->Core Router -> Edge Router. Can I make the queues in my Edge Router (CCR 1009) or should I add the queues on my 'Core Router'? If I add them in the Edge Router and if client ip ...

Define a rate limit for users/ip groups that are not consequent or in the same subnet

Ok after several mum presentations I have noticed that the best way to limit users bandwidth is simple queues. And that each simple queue uses a single core at the time of execution. Now considering I'll be using a ccr1009 to handle the queueing of 100/100 Mbps uplink connection and 100+ clients (an...

Divide 1 provider uplink into 2 virtual ones for queuing

Uplink provider gives me 100Mbps link, I want to split this 100Mbps into 2, and have 50 Mbps for guest users, and the other 50 Mbps to office users. Is this possible? I already shaped guest users to individually not exceed 3Mbps each(using pcq), but when they are all connected they cumulative reach ...

Re: Advice on queueing/shaping clients on brand new WISP network

I already shape them on the CPE, but for now how should I create a 70Mbps Queue and a 30 Mbps Queue on my edge router?

Edit: Considering "premium" users should be treated on a 2:1 relation (i.e cumulative bw=140Mbps available bw=70Mbps)

Advice on queueing/shaping clients on brand new WISP network

I'm building a new WISP network... Here are some considerations. Uplink provider gives us a 100 Mbps Down/Up line. We have two types of customers: "Basic" and "Premiums". The difference between them is that Premium customers must have their bandwidth guaranteed, no matter when in...

Nevermind Sob, problem was on Default Route to My ISP Router (10.0.0.2), I managed to use the 200.x.x.1 as default source address on:
/ip route
add distance=1 gateway=10.0.0.2 pref-src=200.x.x.1
Dont know if its the best way but is working

Hi Sob! Ok NAT is working as it should for internal clients (i didn't specify the out-interface in the firewall rule). But from the Mikrotik Router i can only reach/ping Public IPs if i set as Source Address the Loopback's created. And can't for example upgrade my Router packages because it says cou...

Re: NAT Public IP to clients if using /30 in interface facing ISP

So in conclusion:
1) I Want to use action=src-nat (instead of masquerade)
2.a) out-interface=ether1 (depends if I'm not using other NAT/masquerade rules)
2.b) out-interface=Bridge1 (but i Want to make sure if address are added and routed to the Mikrotik router?)

Thanks for quickly answering!

NAT Public IP to clients if using /30 in interface facing ISP

Hi! Im building a brand new WISP network and dont have much public IP availables to deliver to my customers. I have a /30 connection between my ISP and my MT Router, (10.0.0.1/30MT - 10.0.0.2/30ISP Router). They route me /29 public block of IP to my ether1 interface (10.0.0.1). That gives to me 8 av...
