Re: Proxy ARP incorrectly responding

Not sure by what you mean by an example. The situation I have described is a classic example. You have a router on a network that is working as a PPTP VPN Server. This device has a public interface for logging in from the internet and a private interface to access the local network through the VPN. ...

Re: Proxy ARP incorrectly responding

Thanks for your response Chupaka. My issue here is that according to RFC 1027 it should not respond to a default route. See the extract below. "In 4.3BSD (and probably in other operating systems), a default route is possible. This default route specifies an address to forward a packet to when no oth...

Proxy ARP incorrectly responding

It appears that Proxy ARP on a MT Minirouter 150 running v3.30 is not responding as expected. The configuration is simple with a private 192.168.5.x/24 address configured on Eth 1 and a public IP address configured on Eth 2. It is configured for PPTP with a remote address of 192.168.5.10 and a local...

Re: Dude 3.0 beta7 service hangs/stop monitoring

I am getting this as well. Actually exactly the same symptoms as with 3.0 Beta 6 which is very dissapointing. I was really hoping this would get fixed as there was a lot of discussion about the problem with Beta 6 and we have waited a long time for any fix

Regex on syslog

Has anyone managed to get regex working on the syslog. I am trying to get syslog to generate a notification on a specific string and cannot get it to work. I am looking for notification on DHCP errors. dhcp is in the syslog entry and I have entered dhcp in the regex box but it doesn't seem to recogn...

Re: Ping on V3beta6

Sadly I don't think this is anything to do with timeouts, I would like to be proved wrong however. My system can go very occasionally for 48hrs before failing. Sometimes it goes down 3 times in a day. I have looked with ethereal and it has stopped completely no pings no snmp probes. I cannot find an...

Re: Big Problem V3beta6 Stops Pinging

I wish it were true but sadly no, ping is set to ICMP, TTL 128 and ..... had to restart it 1hr after changing the TTL. I would really like to get a version 3 beta that works ! or even some answer as to when we might get one !

Could someone indicate when V3 Beta 7 is likely to be available as I am still having to restart V3 Beta 6, 2 to 3 times a day which makes it very unreliable. Thanks

I certainly will Uldis, it is ok at the moment but will check that it is pinging when it fails again. I don't think this is the same problem that Firebat is observing as I have never seen it before. The problem has only occurred after upgrading from 2.2 to 3beta6. The only other changes I have made ...

Uldis, it stopped again at 02:20am this morning. I checked with Ethereal and there were no pings being issued and no SNMP activity. The GUI was running ok and so was syslog.

Big Problem V3beta6 Stops Pinging

There seems to be a fundamental problemn with 3beta6 in that it randomly stops pinging. It appears that everything is ok and working however if you inspect the timeplots for ping response the timeline has stopped. Also devices stay in the state they were at when the dude stopped pinging them. SNMP a...

I have loaded V3Beta5 and it's looking good. One small bug is that RouterOS registration table isn't showing the Tx/Rx rate for some reason. Is there a work around or is it a bug?

Some bugs in V3beta4

I have just upgraded to V3beta4 and noticed some strange behaviours that were not there in V2.2 1) When trying to add a probe, if you click on "type", the box drops and closes again immediately so you can't select anything. 2) Device tree doesn't nest correctly 3) Strange behaviours in the Device me...

Thank you for your reply. Do you know if there are any rules about which interfaces you should apply the IP address to when bridging. From your reply I am assuming that in fact the bridge should have the IP address and not ether1. Is that correct. Thanks Nigel
