Re: v6.41 [current]

I am currently running 6.38 and don't have any issues. I am a little concerned over the 6.41 upgrade.
Has anyone else gone from 6.38 (or earlier) to 6.41 and if so, was it smooth sailing?

Re: WinBox over IPSec VPN drops out from windows but OK on Mac [SOLVED]

It's fixed - found this: https://kb.iweb.com/hc/en-us/articles/2 ... -Windows-7

The 2 settings i changed to fix it were to uncheck "Include Windows logon domain" on VPN Options and on Security tab change to Maximum Strength Encryption.

Re: Really Strange VPN Problem

The strange fact about this situation is that for example L2TP over IPsec works flawlessly on iOS clients while on Windows it doesn't while using the same Secrets and profile. This is my problem too - it works flawlessly on a Mac (L2TP over IPSec - then connect to winbox for remote router), but on ...

WinBox over IPSec VPN drops out from windows but OK on Mac [SOLVED]

This is really weird. I have just configured a router at a remote location and now that i am away from that location I am testing access to the router via IPSec VPN. From a windows 7 PC I can connect to the remote network and browse the network / access other network devices no problem. But in Winbo...

Failover testing not using ping

Today i discovered that my ISP cut off my internet, but still allowed ICMP traffic. This confused my ping based failover script as it wasn't failing over despite there not being any real internet service. Is there any alternative way for testing internet service other than ping? Like try to download...

Re: Usb port invalid

7 years from the original post and i have this exact issue.
It was all working fine for 2 months until yesterday.
I've had to disable the USB 3g modem until a fix is found.
Reboot temporarily fixes the USB port but then it goes to invalid state shortly after.

USB port disappearing - reboot to restore

Suddenly today my USB port keeps dropping. I have a 3g modem connected to it. The router is in a remote location. No one has touched it. Was working fine for 2 months and now this. I have rebooted it twice today. Each time the usb starts working fine for a while and then eventually vanishes again. U...

Re: PS4 and mikrotik

I don't see why that should cause an issue. My PS4 is using my MT as primary DNS, as is every other device on my network.
I would however setup a DHCP reservation from the DHCP server settings - makes troubleshooting easier (although my PS4 worked fine on dynamic IP).

Accumulating interface stats

I was hoping that graphing would give me daily, monthly and yearly total bandwidth stats for my interfaces but after setting it up, I am only see throughput stats, no totals. Is there someway to get totals on the graphs or some other means to do this?

Is it possible to script receipt of a keyword in sms from list of allowed numbers, eg. sms "AG" from "+61411123456" and respond with the currently active gateway in a message? eg. response would be: active gateway is "pppoe-Fibre reachable" and it would be sent back to ...

Re: Block internet access to local ip address but only for one ppp interface

Thanks, I thought it would be something like that but wasn't sure if i also needed a rule to block "in-interface=ppp-True3g" but i guess if the outbound traffic is being blocked, there shouldn't be any incoming traffic.

Block internet access to local ip address but only for one ppp interface

My router will fallback to 3g modem if the main wan gateways fail. If this happens, i need to block the ps4 from accessing the internet as it could quickly consume the data allowance on the 3g modem. So how do i block all traffic to/from the ip (10.1.1.30) but only if that traffic is going through t...

I have no problems with my PS4 and no special config on the MT for the PS4 either.
Also UPnP was off by default and I left it off and PS4 working fine.
Have you tried switching off UPnP?

Re: Thinking about buying

I wouldn't say "not friendly" about MT, moreover, they have a huge learning curve compared to your typical consumer router. A few weeks ago I was an MT novice but then i embarked on a project to replace my home router with an MT router supporting dual wan with automatic fail-over. Now the ...

Re: PS4 and MT DNS ...

Every proxy resolver caches records. It depends on TTL set by whoever publishes the record. I didn't see RouterOS doing anything unusual in this regard. However reality dictates that using a MT as a cacheing DNS server stops your connection to PSN and when you push the DNS out further (ISP for exam...

Re: Forwarding UDP port

I suspect your NAT rule isn't working. From my experience, once my NAT rules worked properly, there was no need to add firewall rule as well. From my understanding, NAT happens first.
Try setting Dst. Address Type = local in the NAT rules. That's what did it for me.

Re: Easy Dynamic Dual Wan Failover

I ended up deploying a scripted solution. Pinging the gateway is useless if your gateway is up but their link is down (which is what happens when by fibre link goes down). I actually prefer the scripted solution as it gives you much better control. The script i have switches gateway on more than 80%...

Re: Ping and Bandwidth based Failover with dynamic gateway and IP

Did you get anywhere with this? I have a similar situation to yours and so far haven't found any solution.
1 of my ISPs have dynamic gateways and the other one (the main one) can lose internet connectivity even though gateway is up.
None of the Mikrotik wiki scripts work for me.

WebFig doesn't load in IE 11

After logging in to RouterOS v6.37.1 in IE 11, instead of the usual WebFig UI, it just shows a grey page and the IE process becomes unresponsive (as does my PC until i close the IE tab).
Clearing browser cache doesn't help.

It works fine on chrome.
