On a whim I removed all the 5G configurations from the radios and re-provisioned everything lo and behold now it works *shrug*

Yeah, I'm aware that 2GHz vs 5GHz will have different ranges but I doubt that's the issue here, since the phone won't authenticate to the 5G SSID even when it's sitting directly on top of the "second" cAP ac. As an experiment I disabled the 5GHz radio in the "first" cAP and I *still* can't authentic...

+1 on both of these, I was toying with the idea of switching my wireless infrastructure over to MikroTik, but until there's a DHCPv6 server which does host addressing I'll be putting that on the back-burner.
