Re: RB4011: wlan1 disabling itself

Ok, after many tests i have a "solution" .. you just need at least one 5Ghz Client connected all the time and the wlan1 will always work. The problem is just happening when there is NO client connected for a specified time, then it will "crash" I already told this to MT support and hope they fix it ...

Yes, they are stable. I also see this problem when i connect two CCR's with a direct cable.

Offical response from MT is: "do not use BFD, wait for RouterOS 7 where it is planned to be fixed" :(

rmichael, macgaiver is right:
24mil 64byte pps = =24mil*8*(64+ 14 (Ethernet header) + 4 (Ethernet trailer))/1000/1000 = 15,744Gbps
this is full speed full duplex - the limit is the port speed basically.

Try the following: Set rates to "configued" and check MCS only till 12 and do not use MCS 13, 14 and/or 15 .. this _will_ reduce bandwidth to 180Mbit/s air-rate .. but just test if this will fix the problems.

"only one" in pppoe profile does not work

Hello, we have a pppoe server with external radius authentication. I just found out that the "only one" setting in the pppoe profile does not work. There is a user that logs in from different places (wireless) with the same username. What is that setting for then? I need to get this working since we...

Re: Mikrotik Router and deleting Connections automatically

Hi,

we have exactly the same problem on several ROS boxes (2.9.51 and 3.14/3.16) ... i temporarly solved it with setting "UDP Timeout" to 3 seconds so it does delete it really fast.

But i would see that only as a dirty workaround and Mikrotik has to fix this issue.

Best regards,

Joerg

Re: Second burned amplifier on CM9 card ... any ideas?

My colleague checked the antenna now and it is NOT dc grounded!

We will now try to use a Compex wlan card instead of the cm9 because we have a AP at another location which has exactly the same omni antenna (but with a Compex card) and it's working since 1/2 year without any problems.

Second burned amplifier on CM9 card ... any ideas?

Hi there, we have a 4-port miniPCI / PCI Adapter with four CM9 cards. Three of them running on 5GHz with sector-antennas. One is connected to a 2,4Ghz Omni. The one connected to the omni had a amplifier failure after 15 hours. We replaced it and the new card's amplifier failed also after about 15 ho...

PPPoE-Client Set Defaultroute in other Table(s)

Hi there,

i'm missing the possibility to add a defaultroute within PPPoE-Client to another Table instead of Main one.

Would it be possible to add this (really handy) feature to RouterOS?

Thanks

PPPoE Flooding

Hi there, we have a customer that has some kind of broken PPPoE-Client. The problem is, that his router is flooding our MT Box with several PPPoE-Login/Logout's Sessions. There are about 10 new Sessions per Second, resulting in 100% CPU usage and a lot of memory usage. Can i somehow add a delay in P...

Timeout for ping in check-gateway too short

Hi, i'm using the check-gateway function to check if my DSL line is up or not. But: If the line is full (i only got ADSL) the latency to the checked gateway is surely high. Now the RouterOS declares the Route as invalid since it wasn't able to get a reply. Maybe it would be a good idea to make the t...

Packet Loss within PPTP Tunnel

Dear colleagues, i'm getting grey hair because i can't find the problem. I have a AP (Routerboard) connected to a 2Mbit/s leasedline. I have a PPTP Tunnel between the AP and us. Bugreport: Timezone is ignored on timed NAT rule

Hi there,

i just added a NAT rule with dst-nat and a time setting and it seems that it's ignoring the local Timezone for that time.

2.9.31 but nothing in changelog that would tell that this has been fixed

I doubt that you'll find a way to prevent users from changing their mac to access your service.

The only thing you can do is to use Encryption on the link and not give our the pre-shared Key(s).

I would choose the bigger line and do a bandwidth limitation per user. Load balancing is not always per-packet so maybe you can only have 512kbit/s on a single connection (TCP) when it's a load-balancing per source/destination. But maybe you get better redundancy with three single lines but you can ...

IP Selection from IP Pool

Hi there, we have a scenario with a PPPoE Server that uses a IP Pool to give out IP's for the Clients. The "problem" is that it should not give the Client the same Address every time but it should give another one. We're using this scenario for end users to give them a DSL like internet connection w...

We have a AP Bridge (Accesspoint).

We want to connect a station and simply bridge the ethernet to the wlan.

Or bridge two wlan interfaces.

"AP bridge" -> "Station" (WLAN1 -> WLAN2) -> Customer

So we can increase the range.

But it seems that this is not possible ... :(

Why doesnt a Station work as Bridge?

Hi, why isnt it possible to use a Station as a Bridge between ether1 and wlan1? We need to increase the distance between the AP and some customers and thought about a simple bridge. As i read in the FAQ this is NOT possible??? Sorry, but i really don't understand why it does not work. We really need...
