Re: XR7

It recognized it just fine. Just had to use the channels UBNT said to use.

I could try other antenna's but don't know who makes them. When I did my testing it was in my lab using paper clips. That's what we use for all our tests.

Re: Customer Usage

We don't want to create a hotspot. We have pondered the idea for certain areas or events, but not on an everyday basis for the whole system.

I suppose I could use MAC Authentication and make the password the same for everybody? That would work, then I could use Radius Accounting.

Re: Monitoring Downloading

That is true. However, monitoring the connections now through the connection tab on the firewall page doesn't even show any P2P connection (which is kinda strange). Our main router is using 3.20 on a X86. Put aside P2P traffic, I'd just like to be able to see who is downloading/uploading the most. T...

Re: Monitoring Downloading

That's an idea I hadn't thought about. I haven't messed with netflow at all. Are you importing the data into a mysql database? We are using dhcp. It might cause a few problems, but I could set their IP's to not expire as often. Even still, when they do expire, they usually pick up the same one anywa...

We currently have around 250 customers. We don't use any Hotspots, PPPOE or any other type of authentication other than WPA for our 2.4 customers. We want to track customer usage, but don't want to create PPPOE sessions or authenticate to a RADIUS server. Can we create a RADIUS server that automatic...

Re: XR7

The antenna's are M2 14dBi Yagi's (Horiz Polarity). The noise floor was about 100. No other 700 stuff anywhere near my equipment. Can't remember what channels we tried, but I know we tried several.

Has anybody else had any success with the SR7?

Re: XR7

Very poor results. Quarter mile away and signal was -87. Connected but browsing was very slow. Removed antenna from tower and will test elsewhere. Worked great in my test office, but once deployed I couldn't get much signal. Antenna was about 85 foot up. Same SR9 can hit about 4-5 miles pretty good.

Re: XR7

I've got the card installed, but need to mount the antenna (bout 230' up).

M2 Inc sells a 14Dbi yagi. We use quite a few of their m2-14's and 17's (900) with pretty good success.

Mike from UBNT says they work fine. Should start testing in a couple weeks.
