Re: Why is MikroTik's new product—S+RJ10 10GBASE-T module so cheap?

According to the product spec, S+RJ10 can operate over 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 5 Gbps, 10 Gbps up to 200m. I wonder, it is possible to support up to 200m in 10G copper network? After all the 10GBASE-T modules from Amazon, C2G, FS.COM can only operate up to 30m over 10G Twianx cables.

Re: CRS317-1G-16S+RM

I don't see the differences between them, CRS317-1G-16S+RM is the new Cloud Router Switch 317-1G-16S+RM—rack-mountable manageable 10G switch with Layer3 features, equipped with 16 SFP+ ports for high performance 10GbE connectivity and a 1GbE copper port for management. For the detailed info about th...

Agree with locodog, what kind of OLT do you use? There are two GPON optical transceivers https://www.fs.com/c/pon-transceivers-2845 that you can look into.

Re: FTTH distribution switch with 24sfp and 2-4 SFP+ ports

I haven't used the fs switch that you have provided, but it seemed to be the reliable one. bought several really cheap modules and cables from them. Never let me down. Their sales recently told me that they can offer the http://www.fs.com/40g-100g-white-box-switches-sid-457.htm that you may feel int...

Re: Which types of ports would you like to see for a high speed router

Now I am at 10G network, and I prefer to deploy the 10G to 25G to 100G migration path instead of the 40G to 100G, so I hope the high speed routers with 25G ports.
The single lane 25G network will become more popular in the near future.

Re: Ubnt's new SFPs - do they work with CCR/Hex?

No, I haven't used the Ubnt modules, I always purchase optical modules from fs.com, their 1G SFP modules are around $6.
In this situation, you can order the https://www.fs.com/c/customized-sfp-2985 based on your switch brand.

Re: EPON SFP Transceiver Module

I have never tried that, so I don't know. But it will be a problem if you use the EPON SFP module with a Ethernet SFP transceiver.

Edit: after searching on google, found several PON transceivers https://www.fs.com/c/pon-transceivers-2845 in Class B+ and class C+ type.

Re: CSS326-24G-2S+RM Question

It is a basic L2 24 port Gigabit Ethernet + 2x 10Gb SFP+ switch that'll handle simple functions. If you aren't doing any L3 or LACP this should be a great low power option.

As for the compatibility issue, you should directly ask Mirkotik rep, I don't use cdw transceivers for my routers. Sorry

Re: Compatible DWDM SFP+ Modules?

I have bought the Cisco DWDM SFP+ from amazon, it is fine on my network. But I don't know whether it will work on your CCR1072 router, and it is too expensive. Or if you really want to save a shed load of money, you can look at the fs.com. I heard so many people recommends fs.com on reddit, and thei...

That does look weird. Maybe they put the wrong module on the wrong ports? Have you double check your devices?

CCR1072. can be configured to support 1Gbps but not 10Gbps, have you consult with the mikrotik technical support? or you can look st this http://www.balticnetworks.com/docs/ccr-72-series-qg-150715092438.pdf According to the pdf, SFP+ ports of this router do support 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-LR modules,...

Have you actually used those modules? If so how did they perform for you? Sorry to reply to you so late, I ordered several compatible SFP+ ZR modules from them months ago. So far, they are still working great in my network. And you must know that 10GBASE-ZR is covered in the 802.3 standard. It is f...

The link that you provide is the dead link. But you can have a look at the monoprice, I have bought several sfp optics from them, and all functioned well!

Re: SFP Interfaces

This is an old question about whether a SFP module can work on the SFP+ port. The answer is "in most cases, SFP Can be Plugged into SFP+ Ports", but you have to configure the interface before inserting the SFP. Sometimes you have to tell the switch/router vendors that the port is going to run at 100...
