Re: mplsvpls in bgp of ospf ?

Thanks rpingar ;)

Do you mena I must have a completely redundant double protocol bgp+ospf?
And thias is intended for:
1. have a strong overall rip (if bgp or osfp have a problem then...) ?
2. use all bgp features (specially for vpls) and all ospf features (specially for link state) ?

Thanks.

I know a wisp having pppoe servers on access point.

Re: Frequency "overflood"

You must use "Frequency-Scan", not snooper, to see free channels.
You must also scan at different channel width (5,10,20MHz).
You can also use the mikrotik spectrum analyzer at http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Spectrum_analyzer
The best is to use a true spectrum analyzer.

tipically, your voip server cannot receive sip packets about connection.
Check the firewall: you drop something between your pbx and voip server.

first of all you must set LimitAt and MaxLimit for each queue.
the sum of LimitAt of all subqueue must be <= the limitAt of parent queue.
Otherwise hbt cannot funcion well.
after this, post your queue tree showing also the columns: priority and queue type.

Re: Queue Trees / Simple Queues / Fair Usage / Layer 7 Questions

You could use L7 filters to mark connections in Mangle.
After the connection was marked in Magle you must mark packets.
Then, in the queue tree, you assign a specifica packet mark to a queue.
In this case, the queue receive only packets identified by the L7 filter.

hidden connections: where are they ?

Hi all. I mangle all traffic in forward chain as OTHER_CONN, then I mark all packets as OTHER_PACK. After this I have some rules to mark traffic in the same forward chain: VOIP, HTTP, P2P. When I go in ip>firewall>connections, at the bottom of the window I can see: "2057 items out of 28994 | Max Ent...

I wath I do.
But some peer to peer software simulate an http request in port 80 then I cannot filter them in L7.

strategy to limit P2P in port 80

Hi all. My problem is that many users use port 80 for P2P, using packets not detected by the traffic shaper. This cause that few users consume lot of the http queue. I think to transform the http queue from ethernet-default to pcq (to distribute the available bandwidth equally to various source ip)....

high ping time

Hi all. I have some problems of high ping from a cpe to a base station (all mikrotik+atheros+3.18): the signal is good, the ccq is very good (95%) but the ping is 25ms. Summing other latency, the telephone (and the fax) have a lot of problems. Could some parameters be modified to try to speed up the...

PCQ queues + traffic prioritization

Hi all. I want to test a better method to distribute the available bandwidth to my users. I have 3 class of users (basic, standard, premium). I want to assign an amount of band for each class then distribute the band to the users of a class. I know this could be done using new Dynamic ppp address-li...

Re: could I mangle connections by their pppoe profile ?

I could have confused your reply. I have readed janism.pdf document where it uses address lists to mangle classes of users. In this case I must maintain aligned ip pools and address lists. I must size ip pools and modify them (and the relative address list) if the number of users is higher than prev...

Re: could I mangle connections by their pppoe profile ?

Yes, it is an option.
But is not useful because it makes very difficult to maintain the system having dynamic (and limited) public ip.

could I mangle connections by their pppoe profile ?

I am planning a QoS strategy.
I have 2 user category logging in the subscriver by pppoe connection.
Each user belog to a profile (basic and plus).
I would use different queue trees for the two groups.
Is it possibile to mark the packets belogs to a partuicular pppoe profile ?

Thanks

Re: API /export problem

Sending:
/export
returns only:
!done
Sending:
/export =file=apiex
returns:
!done
BUT....the file created is only a small part of the full export file (98KB vs 250KB). In particular "/ppp secret" is not present.

I think it is normal.
I can see all 5xxx connections if you print them by / ip firewall connection print file=conn.txt or (api) /ip/firewall/connection/getall.

Re: Complete DELPHI API client

I entierely rewritten the library, taking in account the correct numbering of the send commands and !done received.

Now commands link /tool/ping =address=19.19.18.17 works well, as the others command.

Thanks for suggestions.
