hello, i guess you are confusing network layers here. if you are using a transparent bridge aka media converter, a point-to-point link is created over the media. also an underlying ethernet connection is made between access concentrator and pppoe-client. as no ethernet device must have more than one...

hello i cant even open it in etherpeek, wich uses to import a lot of sniffer/dump formats. I tried this too and couldn't figure it out. I setup the sniff to go to a file, then ftp it down after i've stopped it, and then use ethereal to open that file. If someone knows the answer please help :) Sam

Re: ARP Entries

hello not really tested, but as the arp table works like a cache it should only speed up arp requests, otherwise the request has to be send out to the media. (btw. i have read about a 1024 entries limit) I am working on a setup that involves up to 50 static ARP entries with an interface set to reply...

hello, i am quite interested in the watchdog feature, but can not find it in the manual. could you please drop me a page number or something? TIA You could use a script that would do a regular reboot (including proper shutdown). Also, there is an internal reboot watchdog that you can set (see manual...

did you setup encryption in the ppp-profile on the pptp server? (use encryption=yes or require encryption=yes) I just setup the MT as ppttp server and used win2K client to connected to MT server. It works fine as long as I don't specify data encryption. So, it appears that data are not getting encry...
