A feature I'm constantly missing is a filter/search feature for the logs. Would be a very nice feature to have.

One possibility is to use licensed frequency for backhauls. This frees a lot of spectrum and is cheaper than licensing PTMP Frequencies. Another option is to use GPS-Synced Backhauls to reuse frequency. I dont say a product name as my last post got deleted (forgot this is a vendor forum). Other opt...

One of the mayor issues Mikrotik needs to address is the fact that an OS version proven to give so many problems is still beeing listed as 'current' for upgrades. I can switch on or off one chain (any chain) without loosing any throughput, so obviously something is wrong... There is nothing wrong with 3rd chain, you simply can't use it to aggregate more throughput because of a low chain-to-chain isolation if you use all 3 of them in p2p configuration. Its an...

There are two important things in 3x3 antenna system: - antennas should be mirrored, It means that if one ontenna is HV and +45deg, another side must have HV and -45deg. If one both ends of a wireless (tdma) link two routers are ethernet connected, would it make any difference if of one end the routers set their rate in the 'auto' process where on the other end of the link the both routers would be set manually by the operator? On fast ethernet you should be getting 94Mbps with an iperf TCP test. Just a short question: what speed the interfaces have? I mean, both CPE and 'puter is fast ethernet or both gigabit? or mixed? Have a try with same kind! Your troubleshooting seems pretty sound to me. I agree that if a direct connection is only getting 70-80% of expected capacity, then that's going to get really amplified over connections to the Internet in general. (it wasn't a cpu bottleneck when it pegged out at 80, right?) And just to be sure, t...

Don't get tricked by the CPU limitations on these devices to flood a connection with btest. Watch the CPU on the AP when doing a btest and if it hits 100% during the test, you're actually pegging the CPU and not the network. I know that. I always look at the cpu while performing a test. -65 is not a reliable link. Is at the limit for a good client connection. A reliable link is at ~ -50...-55 So if you have noise floor for example -105 (which is pretty noisy) then you have SNR 40dB. Your signal is not the issue. Its the protocol you use; If you use 802.11ac without ubnt's airmax or mikrotik's NV2 you are using plain 802.11ac that is still vulnerable for interferences from other 802.115Ghz frequencies. Re: Winbox 3 RC

This winbox v3.0rc2 is mature by far.... Inline Comments hardly works. Even within same menu group (Wireless tables / interface; set "Inline Comments", go to any of the other tabs and have to click on the "Inline Comments" again to get comments inline. Even if the "Inline Comments" tab still says it...

Well, basically you show me you can't UN-ping it from the taskbar.... But in anyway, its pinnen in my PC's. What I do is I download the winbox.exe and copy/move it to my desktop. I usually make copies of the program and drop it into several corners of my dual screen desktop plus one on the taskbar. ...

ok Guys so in this example: eCee with 5400 means; "C" is a central frequency? So 5400 means range 5390-5410 and then 5400 eCee spectrum range should be 5370-5450 All Frequency setting are central. C = control channel Yes, and its 20Mhz wide. Every "e" means another 20Mhz wide channel that is attach...

What your describing is the need for first hop redundancy VRRP is created for solve just that problem. What is done after the first hop is up to your routing policies. I have exactly this scenario setup to add first hop redundancy to our ISP for devices that can't just use a dynamic routing protoco...

-1 to jkarras, -1 to rmmccann; VRRP is for having 2 routers in the same situation/configuration, where one is a backup for the other. The 'slave' should take over 'master's' work when master goes down and give funtion back to master if master comes back online. Its called "Virtual Router Redundancy ...

Re: double gw mentioning in dhcp-server? How to use?

Clients typically only support one default route. You should look into VRRP to solve your issue. Yes, but you can have several backup default routes set. Only the one with the lowers cost is active. But if that one isn't reachable (ping) it would disable and the next lowest cost route becomes activ...

Bridged network, all vlan to separate this traffic from fixed clients network. (So normal default routing doesn't apply. Routes to gateways for this network pass over vlan to gateway. Separate from other traffic.) Somewhere one IP is gateway (192.168.1.1), some other router is dhcp-server (192.168.1...

If CPE is set to 20Mhz bandwidth, but in 'channel' I configure 10Mhz wide channels and set these in the scan, the station will lock-into these. But is the receiver still receiving in 20Mhz mode?
