Re: Wrong source address when interface with multiple address since 6.30/6.31

I am speaking of "interface route". They are automaticaly added by the system and, to my knowledge, there is no possibility to modify their parameters. As a side note, the behavior is correct up to RouterOS 6.29. I just downgraded to it (I am not trusting that it's just "cosmetic" and won't have som...

Re: OSPF default route with static fallback issue

Do an internal BGP session between your upstream routers to distribute the default route. And then configure those routers to always distribute their default route by OSPF.

Re: BGP Default route to OSPF router

That would work. If you don't mind a single point of failure (and why receive full BGP routing on your 2 routers in that scenario?)

Re: Default Route from BGP to OSPF

Imho, do a iBGP session between your various BGP routers to distribute the default route received from your upstream providers. In the BGP peer config, set "nexthop choice" to "force self" and "default originate" to "if installed" Then configure the OSPF sessions on those routers to redistribute def...

Re: Default Route from BGP to OSPF

You can definitely redistribute the default route from BGP into OSPF. On the router that is doing the redistribution from BGP into OSPF, use the following config and the default will be advertised in OSPF only as long as it exists in BGP. /routing ospf instance set [ find default=yes ] distribute-d...

Re: Wrong source address when interface with multiple address since 6.30/6.31

Mind to elaborate how I can change the pref-source value of an interface route using filters? I wouldn't mind giving it a try even if I doubt it would change anything: The pref-source value displayed for the routes are already the same as the ones shown in earlier version of RouterOS...

Re: Wrong source address when interface with multiple address since 6.30/6.31

You can't set the "pref-src" value on direct routes or routes learned from OSPF (or other routing protocols). So it can't be used as a work-around...

Re: Wrong source address when interface with multiple address since 6.30/6.31

Look at this for example: traceroute to http://www.google.com (173.194.67.103), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets 1 193.247.238.17 0.171 ms 0.157 ms 0.173 ms 2 192.168.252.2 0.367 ms 0.363 ms 0.420 ms 3 193.247.238.11 3.423 ms 5.080 ms 5.073 ms The first router (193.247.238.17) doesn't even have an IP ad...

Re: Wrong source address when interface with multiple address since 6.30/6.31

If that was the case, then why did the behavior changed from version 6.18 (and earlier)? Such things never happened before. If pref-src value is not set, then for locally originated packets that are sent using this route router will choose one of local addresses attached to the output interface that...

Wrong source address when interface with multiple address since 6.30/6.31

I just noticed the following problem with RouterOS 6.30/6.31 that wasn't happening with 6.18: I have routers with both a private IP and a public IP addresses on the same interface. All the routing is done on the public IPs and only the public IP networks are configured in OSPF: ie: PC1:193.xxx.xxx.1...

Re: Hotspot and SIP/VoIP

Based on more tests, the problem is that there is no "SIP helper" for hotspot authentificated users. Is there any way to use the SIP helper with hotspot authentificated users? In "hotspot -> service ports", there is only a FTP helper... Is it possible to use firewall rules to use the "firewall -> Se...

Hotspot and SIP/VoIP

I am trying to make VoIP/SIP call from a RouterOS hotspot. It works with some SIP providers but not with others so it's probably a problem between the various NAT/firewalls involved. The softphone register correctly with the BPX but when I try to make a call, there is no sound (both directions). If ...
