Best way to upgrade bios

Hello

What is the best way to upgrade the bios in a routerboard?

I can see where to download the bios but not how to upgrade it.

The manual says you can download some remote ethernet loader thing but I can't find that.

Thanks

ospf drops now and again

Hello

Sometimes when a link is working near max ospf will loose its routes for 30 seconds or so then back ok again

Is there a way to prevent this?

in routing-test is it best to set the neighbor's?

Thanks

get you signal strength to about -60 (not -45) and try again.

Also, I dont like 802.11g, I always get faster because of less interference on 10mhz wide

AP- Station WDS will work (I think)

Effective Priotizing only works with less than 85% of pipe

Hello

I use pcq to share bandwidth and set p2p to low priority.

It works perfect if I set my max to 85% of my total pipe size

When I go higher it gets worst and worse.

Is there any way around this?

I hate to waste 15% of the pipe as I pay per Mb pipe.

I only have 2 Mb

Also I found

nstream give slighly more higher ping times but will keep the pings low even under load way better then disabled, I also find the polling feature very usefull.

Thanks for the Info

I'm in Aussie, we are also only allowed to go to 30

I do find with 5.8 (not allowed 5.3 outside) you can get away with less signal.

I have a 25km p2p with -82 and get solid link.

Hello,

I am using .23 and cm9's both ends on P2MP.

My Radio will stay connected with as low as with -90 (if they have to)

I think with CM9 this RouterOS is very good.

I do agree still more work to be done, but for me 99.9 is fine..

10kms easy

We do 8kms with 26dbi's & cm9 radio down to 10
Locked in at 24, I'm sure with radio up to 15 or 16 would get 54.

Routerboard 500 Series Reliable?

Hello,

I have got a few links that ramdom disconnect with good signal and other sites are fine.

I notice the ones that disconnect seem to be all RB500's

Is the RB500 series known to be a stable wireless platform or should I go for RB200 (or even RB100)

Thanks :)
