Hi all.

There is some way to disable new "hotspot proxy" (not web proxy package) ?
This proxy server makes some troubles on our configuration (old hotspot system 2.8 works good).
Try to disable the 'transparent-proxy' option in the 'ip hotspot user profile' that will help you.

for devices being "tested" merely by a ping: Maybe it's there somewhere, but I do not see method of setting some number of retries before DUDE classifies it as a failure.
In next version you will be able to modify the ping probe settings: Retry Count and Retry Interval.

No, we will not add this, because The Dude is made for RouterOS v2.9. And in v2.9 there is no need to change the Winbox port.

We found the bug. We will try to fix it. You don't need to reinstall the Dude, you only need to reset the configuration for the Dude server. Just tested such configuration and it is working fine. Maybe you have some specific wireless configuration. You could send the support output files from both routers to support@mikrotik.com

You need to try latest version of the RouterOS, currently 2.8.22 which has no known issues for low throughput on 5Ghz. When you add a rule in the forward chain that should drop p2p traffic then note that it will start to work on the new p2p connections - already created p2p connections will not be dropped. You can reboot the router so it will clear all the connections, that could help you. The best way to avoid that...

We created a fix for the Atheors 5213 chipset cards that has slow performance. This is a test package and it doesn't contain the Winbox configuration support. Please report to support@mikrotik.com if it fixed the problem.

Just checked the v2.7.20 with Atheros 5210 card and it is connecting to the v2.8.19 with Atheros 5211 card. All is working fine.
Could you please tell more specific what doesn't work? Send all that info to the support@mikrotik.com also include the support output file.

also, with new drivers, 5213 atheros did not see ap that was on 2312 mhz freq, also 5212 did not
see 5213 that was on that freqency, but when loading legacy driver, everything worked perfectly
In V2.8.16 it will be fixed.
