oh ok,

I have done abit of this.

But marking packets that are downloading is harder as the local ip's are not in the packets untill a later stage? how do i sort that out?


is there no way to link a pppoe connection to a ip?

Is there not a setting on the pppoe server that forwards the attempting connection after it has failed to login?

Because if i have the pppoe server connected i cannot connect to any other pppoe connections (on the internet via a modem) or any thing, the mikrotik s one is dominant. ???

I just have the nat to hide the computers from the network above it, its not for secutiry.

Is there not any other configuration that i can setup that will allow for the computers to be isolated but availble for certain ports and ips?

weird.. If i disable the DHCP server for a min the cpu usage does not go down? Both Ips, in user man and mikrotik where the same for radius and router.

I am having the same problem.

Im using v4.15

It was working fine before, but i had to change the ip address that it was using and now it wont want to work with any ip or nothing,

It just keeps saying RADIUS server not responding.

How did u fix you fix your problem?

Oh,

google must just change it then.

So now how do i set tls=yes like globaly,

Cause i cant do anything with email besides when i manualy type in to send a message,

cause it needs to say tls=yes, and when a log tries to send a email it dont do that.

if i put "hello" in the from it still sends, no errors on router.

Comes into inbox from info@zapotel.co.za though not as "Hello" but no errors.

wow,

i tried every possibily possible to man.

I was doing this in winbox.

If u put in smtp.gmail.com in smtp server field, it automatically resolves it for you. (where u would usualy put the ip)

Does it matter if it have to have the < > on ends?
Set your "from" email address to something sensible, but it does not need to be a real email address that exists,
thats also in the wiki?

Yea, i was thinking about that, Cause currently i also set the speed limit in raduis, and that seems to work well. But from my understanding of using queue trees with pcq is that say there is only 2 users on line they get more than what they usualy would get??? So PCQ is a good thing if u can get it...

I did that,

I booted from ethernet, and then netinstalled the new firmware

and it seemes to work.

In putty i choes serial then chose com2 and click connect.

one router, plugged into modem and switch ( all pc connect to the one switch and then intern the same router)

I was bust playign with ques yesterday and i noticed some thing.

I am trying to mark packets under mangle in firewall.

I am marking them by src IP LISt.
but it only mangle the computer UPLOAD and not the download?

So i tried dst address list and that didnt mark anything?

What am i doing wrong?

Ha ha, its a good marketing gimmic, thats like the reason i bought the board.

I foudn with v5 that it was unable to format drives? I had to load 4.11 back on to format my flash drives.


One cool thing i tried which worked was plugging in a 4 port usb hub with 4 flash drives.

I just got the rb 433uah

and i am trying to get the microsd card to work and it wont,

It just does not show up. I go to system/stores and it only shows my flash drive and the onboard memory.

Yea i agree, Queues are mind boggaling, you can do it so so many differnt ways and each one is better than the other.

It would be good to hear some oppiniouns and advice on each different setup. Cause the wiki dont really give you that.

Ok i know this is kinda random, but is there anyway to view requests that hit your router from the internet.

So say some one connects you your server via remote desktop it will pop up saying IP .... bla bla bla port 80 and all that?

Hi there, I am trying to install mikrotik os onto a pc. I downloaded the iso from the website and booted from it and it says detecting drivers it finds the hard drive and then says No CR ROM press enter to reboot. But there is a cd rom, i booted from it. I even tried on 2 pc's ?? What can i do?

i unclicked use peer dns and then i created a opendns accoutn and put in those ips into the dns and it seems to be workign ok now.

So now i know if it drops to phone telkom.'

Im only useing internet on the 192.168.0.0/24 range Ether 2 is a upstream network. its a backup internet connection. So there is just 1 gateway on that network ip of 192.168.1.1 and thats it. if internet coonection on ether1 fails it uses the internet on ether 2. But i was thinking for DNS problems....

Yea thats what i currently have running now.

But under DNS settings is the main Internet's DNS servers and not the backup one.

So if line1 goes down and line 2 kicks in then all the computers will still be using line1 dns servers and not line 2
