Re: Is 20mbps PTMP possible??

I think its to risky offering 20Mbit.

I really wouldn't do it, perhaps 10Mbit if you had -65 for every one of you clients and only 10 - 20 users per AP.

Again, I'd put a "up to X-Mbits" on the contract

Re: MUM for Australia - any planning?

IMHO

For the price we pay for this software I don't mind having to do a bit of reasearch with others, infact it make me sharper.

As for a bug in 2.9 that stop someone using it, MT will fix that, just not add more features :-)

Hello

With the RB500 specs say Jack and POE can be 12-28volt

With RB133 jack is 9 - 28v and POE is 16 - 28V

What's is the diffrence? why would rb133 be not the same for poe and power jack?

Do you have trees in front but to the side?

I have links when I use grids if a tree is about 100 meters to one side (even tho I have LOS) teh link is bad.

I put panels and it was fine.

I think in my case it was the side lobes reflecting off the tree.

Re: Switch Issues

Just put a cheap $10 "dumb" switch in.

If that doesn't fix it I think you have another problem.

I would guess your switch can auto-negotiate but is not plug & play (thus when you set to 100 full switch is neg to 100half)

I use HP Procurves at 100 half and it works really well.

Hello

If I send all my data out to one ISP & have most of it comming back via another (BGP) will that cause any problems?

Both ISP's have filters open for my IP range.

The reason is on is faster up the other is faster down.

How many hosts has you subnet?

When I use pcq I do not specifiy a target, just mark connections/packects and put pcq on the whole interface (your side)

That gets every host on cold side of router

Thats awesome, I'll do that, teh netflow is way to much data to store. Can we have the manual updated? Can you post your script or is it private? Looks pretty good What hareware is your router? I've noticed an rb500 will go to 100% for about 10 seconds or longer if I leave it for a few min's Not sur...

queues and dropping packets

Hello If a queue drops packets when a user is going to fast, wouldn't the internet just have to resend them? Would that mean that by putting queuing in you really are increasing the amount of traffic coming in. The other question, is their any problem with creating larger queues so packets queue ins...

HI , Thanks for the info, I'll look into it. What I'm on about is putting qos onto my backhauls as I am getting an internet connection faster than they can carry. If the backhaul has not upload traffic I'd like it to pull faster, but if it has upload traffic use pcq to slow it doen before ping start...

Poor man UPS Monitor

Hello I am going to run my remote AP's of 12v SLA and chargers. I was thinking of connecting a $10 switch to ether2 and plugging the switch into main power. I'd like a script to tell when ether1 has 'no link' and then email me. I have never wrote a MT script before and had a glance at the manual and...

Hello

The plan was to have a cheap solution on a new station and see how it goes

If I get more then 20 clients I'll go for 2 rb500's :-)

I also like sectors better, even if only for the range and less interference

Thanks, Its something to think about.

I installed b5 on a radio that used to give me the dreaded 'join timeout'

It no longer has this problem :-)

May be just a fluke but im not sure.

I really am hanging to get into this V3, I like it already

Has V3 got a new Wireless Driver?

Those boards are not very powerfull

Npt sure turbo would really help you (run out of cpu power before spectrum)

Nstream may be the same.

Look at system resorces, see cpu.

But yea, you can get a smidge more doing test vi pc-pc with radios in the middle

errr, its in a rootenna...

I am testing theory now, if I am correct I'll duplicate it on the bench and create file for you.

I'll check the manual on how to create that file from console and report back.

Just thinking, I could create the file via mac-telnet?

Thanks

I think when you cant ping you can't winbox either. I used to have input rules on my gateway blocking access to it. after upgrade to 38 it woul dnot ping out even but only sometimes, strange I just disabled the rule and forgot about it. Are you sure no firewall stuff was played with between 35 and 3...
