1.1 km? The device is advertised for 100 meters. You should wait for LHG 60G instead.
And 1.1km with 60Ghz would be to much. This is like shooting 5GHz through trees. You need luck and good weather. This is due to physics and no 60Ghz gear I know gives good/reliable results at this distance.

Did a throughput test port1/port2. Could push nearly 1GBit/s udp traffic FDX to port1 and another to port2. Would not work with switch between. So Winbox is correct. There is no switch.

Re: Flow Control in ROS

So, is the flow control a good thing or not? I've found this negative old article: http://virtualthreads.blogspot.sk/2006/02/beware-ethernet-flow-control.html What do you think? It depends. We use it at links where speed changes. E.g. 100M to 1G or Ethernet to wireless. There it helps to reduce the...

You may be right. Any other explanation for the bandwidth reduction in multi-hop setups? I guess: Packet aggregation in NV2 which disturbs the ack mechanism of tcp. The degradation happens because of the store and forward process on each element in the chain. To pass 2 intermediate stations, your data packet will have to be received, queued, dequeued and sent 4 additional times (if your B and C nodes consist of 2 access points linked together by ethernet). Re: What is wrong with nv2?

When you have heavy noisy environment, it's a great help. We have even 29db CPE at such distance. Higher gain antenna = Narrower beam = better SNR. Of course, it allows us to use lower tx power, so we can reuse frequencies Regards I guess this is the secret. nv2 needs optimal conditions to scale in...

Re: What is wrong with nv2?

He is talking about rocket ac ptp and ptmp already available on market.
Well if he is I don't think they are doing front-end filtering (i.e. before first stage of amplification) any where else can be close to ineffective and sales spin makes for good reading.
Just do a test.

Re: What is wrong with nv2?

You can argue for a while. We've end of 2015 and development goes on. Just tested a competitors gear and can't no longer argue to stay with nv2. I talked to MT. I talked in this forum that something has to be done. They developed hex and whatsoever but nobody cares. May be their decisions are appro...

Re: What is wrong with nv2?

I do agree that tweaking is needed to get the most out of Mikrotik. I can not disagree more on a one size fits all perfectly. What you are telling me is a ISP with 2000 users should operated the same as a local wifi network. That is juvenile at best and as a forum guru i am highly disappointed in y...

Re: What is wrong with nv2?

We've been offering similar complaints to Mikrotik (face to face at MUM in NZ as well); and will STILL have an unresolved ticket that must be coming up 6 months old re: wireless performance and 4xx series board having issues with NV2 / Nstreme in 6.2x.x and we just get ye old "try the latest v...

this is an old topic, but the problems are actually also in 2015, so maybe we can discuss the experiences since 2011 mikrotik wasn't made big changes in this plan since NV2 appear in 2011, the ac standard was introduced i can say that NV2 TDMA isn't enough for increased client speeds what do you th...

Re: AC equipment and spectral scan problem

One possibility is to use licensed frequency for backhauls. This frees a lot of spectrum and is cheaper than licensing PTMP Frequencies. Another option is to use GPS-Synced Backhauls to reuse frequency. I dont say a product name as my last post got deleted (forgot this is a vendor forum). Other opt...

Re: AC equipment and spectral scan problem

Well, that is the situation we're in. Go on with MT is cheapest option but definitely not the best. And in the present market it has no capital value since 90% of the market in Europe is not MT..... The question I would ask is 90% of the domestic market prepared to pay an extra say 200% increase in...

Re: Trunk port very CPU intensive

Hello, according to here https://lafibre.info/images/doc/201106_spec_AR8327.pdf the 8327 has 1Mb buffer, that is enough. HP 2824G has 0,75 and works flawlessy. This is 1Mbit which is low for a gigabit switch. Esp. when using wireless links and flow control. They work but it is not enterprise grade....

Re: Trunk port very CPU intensive

Sorry if I recovered an old post... but is the situation still the same? TRUNK and VLANS are made in software? I have plans where I would use vlan tag ona single trunk port just to save ports onthe switch... but I would like to lose performances. This depends on the rb model and how you configure i...

Re: AC equipment and spectral scan problem

Imho it is not possible to do a spectral scan on any device if it doesn't have a second radio. Because a radio circuit can only do one thing at the time. Send (=speak) or Receive (=listening) and therefore it cannot Send/Receive to associate station and at the same time 'listen into the whole spect...

Re: AC equipment and spectral scan problem

The Quantenna chips do a background scan with one radio (B5 Lite). So seems to be possible. While the results are not opimal yet. We still see the own signal as foreign signal. So not only MT has wireless work to do. I see Mimosa as the real competitor in the future as they do not use the same Athe...

Re: AC equipment and spectral scan problem

Is Powerbeam AC400 a "high end" product? Is slighly cheaper than Dinadish5... and can do Spectral Scan (even without disconnecting the link) Even NBE-5AC-16 can do it, and I seriously doubt that a 70$ CPE has double radio... A Powerbeam AC400 I can't find on the ubnt website. But what com...

cm2 tested in real life?

Did anyone tested the newest version on a production AP with cm2 package.

I see there are changes:

*) wlan - improve single connection TCP performance for ac chipset with cm2 package;

Changes in end user performance?

Re: RB1200 low bandwidht/high latency on some ports

RB1200 is no longer sold for about 2 years now. It had BAD issues with ether9 and ether10, avoid those ports. Rest of the ports were good, it was a good board as long as you didnt use 9-10. We still have many deployed, kicking hard without any issue (again we are not using ports 9-10). I had the pr...

RB1200 low bandwidht/high latency on some ports

Had a slow connection through our network and found a RB1200 in the middle which seems to cause this. On ether2 and ether10 I see high pings to connected devices. No ethernet handshake problem, no queue (only hardware queue). They just ping between 0 and 20ms over ethernet and limit traffic to 30-50...

Re: Triple chain V+V+H or H+H+V antennas?

Can anybody explain what purpose these triple chain antennas would make? A CPE typically is either H or V polarized or H+V duo chain. In other words, one of the chains in the triple chain antenna setup is not going to be used? RF-Elements are selling these now as 'Carrier' grade antennas. But I don...
