The password is unique and random, but we do have it in a database in readable form (I mean, this is still better than blank). You can't guess it, but you will need to change it anyway.

You can stop dreaming, like it was already said multiple times, ww2 package uses stock driver, which is very large. We can't and wont take it apart, it would render useless our efforts to make stock qualcomm driver work in ROS. that was the whole point, take the driver and use it.

If you need the changes in that version, just use that version. Why does the version number matter? It is just a number. You are afraid of "beta", because unstable? WELLL Zerotier 1.10.3 is also unstable just the same :D

USB-C port is for power ONLY on hAP ax Lite.
Installing this module instead of the burnt out one allows you to change the power range to max 15V
I imagine this module is not for free? Is the added cost really worth it, instead of educating user to use included power adapter ?

No you can't, this is where the NAT rule comes into play. /ip firewall nat add chain=dstnat action=redirect protocol=tcp dst-post=53 this one will catch any other DNS request and send it to your router. Also, to be extra safe, you can block UDP port 53 from leaving your router, so no regular DNS req...

This config is also wrong. Did you watch the video? If you are using the router as the DoH client, you should not send the clients to the unencrypted DNS server, it makes no sense. Remove the DNS servers entries from the DHCP Network settings, replace it with the router IP 192.168.0.1 (probably). Th...

Your router doesn't know the IP address of this server, you must add a IP -> DNS -> Static entry for it. it looks like it could be these two IP adderesses: doh.cleanbrowsing.org. 3600 IN A 185.228.168.168 doh.cleanbrowsing.org. 3600 IN A 185.228.168.10 Then it should work. Re: DoH: no downstream server available

It looks like DoH worked fine, but the server you are using is not able to reach it's own DNS server. So just try a different DoH server for now.

Re: Is ROS:7.6 ready for real production work?

I am waiting for long term stable on vers7 before switching and I am a home user. I do use an MT hex behind the main router using Vers7.6 to access wireguard, (would never consider using openvpn). For home users v7 is very stable for a long time already. There are not many known issues that affect ...

Yes, above poster is right, v6 will only see critical security fixes. All development is concentrated on v7, this is why I ask, is there anything specific the OP would like help with

I appreciate the effort, but the tips in this thread are now outdated and no longer necessary.

Consider using /container/shell instead:

Re: hAP ax² dual band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax)

It can't be used as CAP (yet), it has a completely different wireless driver, which does not have any CAPsMAN support.
CAPsMAN for 802.11ax devices is coming soon, but all your CAPsMAN network will have to consist of AX devices (or more specifically, any devices with wifiwave2.npk driver)

Re: Audiance Mesh vs CAPsMAN

Well, broadly speaking the biggest difference is that Audiences have a hidden wireless interface that is used to connect the units themselves. No need to run any LAN cables in your house. Audience still uses CAPsMAN for the other things. You can build a capsman setup with any MikroTik routers, the o...

Re: Chateau LTE12 "sim not present"

Try to put some sticky tape on the back of the SIM. This will hold the SIM in the adapter better, plus it will give it more thickness. Some SIM cards are thinner than others, and this can cause issues.

If you can access the forum, you can use DoH and zerotier. I think this is not a question about missing features, but skill to configure existing features. DoH uses TCP 443 port, the same one you are using to write posts here. It means it's open. Create a free cloud server in any cloud VPS. Also Zer...

This has been discussed to death, but v7 tests are different than v6 tests, so you can't compare hAP ac2 with hAP ax or Chateau, because they are v7 devices with different kernel and different tests.

Depending on your needs, you could go the opposite way, allow the sites you really need, then block everything else. This will certainly block youtube.

1) white USB port due to 3D render mistake, actual product has a blue port
2) well yes, more AX products are coming, but we need to make AX compatible CAPsMAN first
3) No mistake, the hAP ax2 is clocked lower than hAP ax3, due to better cooling in the larger case of hAP ax3

Maybe somebody can post short tutorial to make some free VPN ONLY for traffic to mikrotik cloud :) ?
I guess it could be to amazon cloud in any of their regions, since "micro" instance is free, and resources would be enough for "only mikrotik updates" traffic.

hAP AX can only work with the wifiwave2 package. We do not have the "old" self made driver for this new chip anymore.
CAPsMAN for wifiwave2 package is in development.
