Re: Omnitik nv2 setup

Many of your signal levels are far too low. This results in low air rates for the affected clients, which will lower your total throughput for all clients in return. Aim for -65dB RX-level (CPE and Omni). Use mikrotik linkcalc to estimate needed TX-Power and Antenna-type. Try to never go below -70d...

Try this: Make a survey to check what its the cleanest channel and use it, remember that in 2.4GHz only 1, 6 and 11 wont interfere with each other so you need to select the most clear and see that the nearby channels are clear too. Change the chanel Make sure that you Point the antenas like this -> ...

Yes, there are tools to know the ssid, if you want to connect only 1 or more stations, i suggest unchecking the "Default authenticate" and put manually your stations Mac address on the access list. This will only let auth and connect the macs you listed. Even this way is possible to get it...

what you need is to use station pseudobridge, then add a bridge between ether1 and wlan1 and you are done.. ;) 802.11 doesnt allow to bridge on the station side.. :) this is like a bridge but, no matter what you connect on your ether1 side the AP will see only 1 mac address, the wlan1 one. Regards!

You could use the access list to drop anyone with weak signal, but that would likely be a ton of work compared to just enabling encryption. Best bet is to encrypt it.
