I am a (not so) happy owner of a Mikrotik router model: 2011UiAS-2HnD
I have contracted 1Gbps bandwidth from my ISP.
I have tried to measure the speed using speedtest.net
I am not sure where the problem is: ISP, Router or my computer, but what I can see for sure is 98-100% usage of the CPU when running in terminal:
system resource monitor: cpu-used: 100%
I am using the most up to date OS: MikroTik RouterOS 6.31 and firmware available for this RouterBoard: 3.24.
That performance sounds realistic. The most I’ve seen is around 300 Mbps. You could see if FastPath / FastTrack will squeeze a few more MB/s out of it.
Below are the performance test results visible on the routerboard.com website. In future Id suggest checking these to pick the correct router.
I am not sure how to read the table from the website, I was actually looking over those numbers before deciding to purchase the model in discussion.
Let me try to understand the table, maybe I am wrong in here, I am looking at “Routing” line “none (fast path)” with default 1518 byte pack.
So, if I am on the right cell, then I should be able to achieve a speed of 1481 Mbps, or… I am not looking where I am supposed to? ( this is also a bit surprising as I am not sure how a router with gigabit ports - 1000Mbps could go as high as 1481 Mbps…)
Huge thanks for your reply
PS:
I am not sure how can I enable : “FastPath / FastTrack”
Thank you InoX,
now I understand how Mr. vortex achieved 500Mbps, he would have similar to what I have 250 down and 250 up = 500
I have managed and activated Fast track, I can not really see the difference, CPU is still 100% and download is still close to 300 Mbps
